You can luck into one championship, or even two or three because you are someones best friend. But you don't win championships in half your seasons in the NBA by luck.

Why are you even comparing scrubs?

Just look at Shaq and you know why Lakers won those championships... The guy was UNSTOPPABLE.

    99-00: 30.7 PPG 0.566 FG% 15.4 RPG 3.1 APG 2.4 BPG 2.43 TO
    00-01: 30.4 PPG 0.555 FG% 15.4 RPG 3.2 APG 2.4 BPG 3.56 TO
    01-02: 28.5 PPG 0.529 FG% 12.6 RPG 2.8 APG 2.5 BPG 3.26 TO

This is Yao's best playoff performance:

    06-07: 25.1 PPG 0.440 FG% 10.3 RPG 0.9 APG 0.7 BPG 4.71 TO

Blame the scrubs all you want but it's hard to win when your center shoots 44%, 4.71 TO and terrible defense on Boozer (not entirely Yao's fault).

I disagree with your logic. A team is good doesn't mean everyone in that team is good. Fisher was good in that Laker team, but individually, he is never at the Francis level. About Scola and Horry, one was a two time MVP in different league and one had several NBA championship rings as a role player, take your pick.

Horry in his prime vs Scola in his prime?
    Horry. Easily.

A good team has good players. that's the correct logic.
And its not about putting up all star numbers, its about doing your role well and chemistry with your teammates.

from what i heard and seen, Horry is one of the best teammates of all time.
you can google what any Rockets player said about him
    and Kobe and Tim Duncan

fisher was a streaky shooter, fox is a dirty player, while horry is just big shot bob, however, they are still better than rafer/battier/hayes.

i declare this a no contest.

If i'm not mistaken, fox is the team captain, while horry is the 6th man. So its wrong to compare them with battier/hayes.

Scola in his prime could be a big time leader in NBA while Horry in prime was still an elite role player. (Scola has proved himself as a true leader in another reputable league already) I take Scola.

Good player doesn't mean better player. If doing ones role makes them a good player, then most of the end of bench players are good players, because they did fill their role by sitting on the bench. Anyway, filling their role is filling their role, that still doesn't mean they are better than Francis or Scola.

Teammates also praised Yao as the best teammate, but that doesn't mean Yao is better or more effective than Shaq in his prime. Coach/teammates also praised Battier, but that doesn't make him a better basketball player than Artest, Marion and etc, at least skill wise.

you take the euroleague mvp, I'll take the guy with 7 NBA titles.
you can take Scola shooting the last second shot in the NBA finals, I'll take Horry.

    you take COULD BE
    I'll take IS ALREADY

I could care less if Scola scores 50 pts in one game, is he gonna have the guts and skill to make shots when it counts.

Is he gonna make that key rebound that Horry had over Malone or Barkley or Rasheed?

Is he gonna hit the game winner like he did against Detroit? Sacremento? The Spurs?

is Scola gonna be legend? I hope so. But for now. I'm not gonna put him ahead of the 7 Time NBA CHAMPION and HERO.

C'mon do we really need 3 page do discuss this?

Battier is on the same level of rick fox.
but mention rafer/hayes with likes of fisher/horry is just plain disgrace. at least pay some respect to some lengendary role players.

Fox is one of the most underrated players ever. people tend to forget how good of a offensive and defensive player. in boston he was a 18-7-3 player. but when he went to La, he concentrate on playing defense. the guy was a lockdown defender.

I agree with everyoneelse that kobe and shaq were superior to tracy and yao. didnt both those guys avge 30 plus in a series against the spurs?. that lakers team will go down as one of the greats.

At one stage they were 15-1 in the playoffs.
