Same point could be made that it usually means he is playing against the other teams second unit which wont have their best scorers or defenders either.

Rafer really sucks. I hate to see him playing just like I hate to see Luther.
However, AB cant start since hes more a scorer than passer, at least for now. And his size is a liability on defense sometimes.
To sum up, we have to let Rafer plays the horrible basketball just because we dont have any other choice... Thats sad.

PS. dont count on Steve too much because I have a feeling that hes not gonna go back and hes happy collecting money without playing. Forgive me overreaction actually. lol

It always amuses me to see people quote 82games and act like they are the ultimate source of truth.

    Hmm...let's see...

    http://www.82games.com/0809/0809LAL.HTM

So, according to the logic you choose to follow, Odom makes them 17.1 points per 100 possessions better, Bryant only 7.6. That must mean Odom is their best player, yeah?

    http://www.82games.com/0809/0809DAL.HTM

Wow, Dampier makes them 18.8 points per 100 possessions better while he is on the court...he must be the 2nd best center in the NBA, right?

    http://www.82games.com/0809/0809ORL.HTM

Ah, this Dwight Howard guy...he sucks...he makes them 4.9 possessions worse while he is on the court.

VanGundier, I expected better of you. When will people learn that 82games is crap.

another thing is that luther should play ahead of barry and take a few of artest's minutes as well. how does ron ron evade criticism...he has sucked big time. head shoots better than barry and artest and they need makers not just guys who volume shoot like artest.

Brooks on/off court numbers match well with the perception of Brooks.

    On Court:
    Positive(s): EFG% - up
Negative(s): EFG% Allowed - up; Assisted FG - down; Assisted FG% Allowed - up; Net TOs - up.

==>> If Brooks doesnt score, he shouldnt be on the court.

Brooks contributions in other areas except scoring are negative.

If Head didn't turn the ball over every time he enters the game, the man would be getting PT. He's just a horrid decision-maker. But I do agree with you that Brent and Ron have been very underwhelming on offense.

Brooks has so much potential, and he has improved his decision making so much over the summer to.

I really believe he has the potential to be a good starting PG (ie better than Rafer) because unlike Rafer, he can break down the defense.

Now while he has always been able to get into the lane where he only has one post defender in his face he had always struggled with the correct decision-passing it or try a floater over a taller defender. Early this year he was making almost all of the correct decision and has become a much better finisher at the rim too. But for some reason, especially of late, the guy's been reverting back to rookie mode and chucking Rafer-esque floaters over 7 footers.

His size is still a liability on defense but Ron's presence has decreased that somewhat.
