i have nothing against rafer alston returning to the Rockets this year and being our starting pg. i've been hearing alot of people saying that hes not a complete player, and that is shooting % is horrid. I do agree that his shooting has really struggled, but hes a very smart point pg. his speed this year should be a huge step for the newly aquired Rockets this year. btw i hope to see stevie franchise return. im a huge fan of his and i have alot of respect for him.

Did you notice the graphic that DD posted? Kind of blows that theory up. Rafer finished his drives at about 46%, which is more than a few points below 60%. If you removed fast breaks and considered only half-court possessions, I bet it would be very close to 40%.

I can't start topics so I'll add onto this one.

Do you think a trade to acquire Sun Yue would prove worth while?

How do you suppose it could happen?

While I was watching the Olympics China games everytime he held the ball I would think 'man if we could get that guy'. He can penetrate, he is quick, h can get the ball to Yao (which they are actually friends), they (Yao and Yue) both know each others games and so forth.

Just a curious thought, see how you guys feel, flame or no flame, do what you have to. Ima just keep listening to "Paper Trail".

He is a nice player for sure , I would love to get him but that depends on the Lakers asking price.

5 pages and no one photoshopped Rafer's head onto Jeff Van Gundy's head in the Clutch the Bear outfit? Jeez.

Another thing to look at is Lakers are more then good on PG's! Fisher and Farmar and occasionally Vujacic.

He has a one year no option contract @ $442,114, bare minimum. Maybe Lakers wouldn't give him up because of how cheap his contract is :(

But you have to consider that Rafer takes a lot of floaters, and as the graph suggests, he makes them at about a 46% - 48% clip. Not THAT bad, really.

Dont derail this thread you idiot. it's about rafer and not you're boyfriend sun whatever his name is. anyway, back to the rockets and rafer. rafer is so underrated here iot's crazy. he is one of the better PG's of the league interms of taking care of the ball and bringing it up the floor. he can beat alot of good PG's off the dribble because he has a pretty lethal first step. he rarley commits boneheaded turnovers and he has a great understanding of where our big 2 need the ball. the whole offense just runs so well with him running it.

On defense he is above average. he has great feet movement. unless it's paul or derone willams, rafer rarley gets beaten off the dribble.he also has very good hands on defense. overrall, with his realtivley low salary and production, we cant do much better. 9 points 8 assists 3 boards 1 steal a game off rafer would be awesom.

    1) Where is the derailing? Just because I mention another player I'm derailing him? Holy snap make sure to tell Wikipedia your new definition and while your at it make sure let them know your mentally challenged so they don't think awkward of you.

    2) If you actually read back to the beginning and a little before that in another thread you would see the starter of this thread being requested by me and others to start a thread on this very topic (being my rookie status I can't make threads) so why on God's earth would I derail a player I was giving props to and defending from every other bashing mouth on this forum who said we needed a better PG or who said we were weak at the one. Another point to you being a moron.

    3) Going back to point 2 you will again see I am in rookie status otherwise I would have brought up Sun Yue in a whole new thread and you would probably learn a couple more things but unfortunately I cannot.

    4) If you did your research before committing to the Submit Reply button you could have probably looked him up and seen that he would have been a nice asset to Yao (in particular) and the other scoring machines on this team.

    5) Lastly for now, everything you mentioned good on Rafer I already posted on the first page. So I am confused, are you trying to debate with me on terms I pointed out already???

    Plain pathetic.

Why in the world would I derail the player I thought needed more props on a thread I requested....I swear....

Rafer is really good and I think he will do more of the same this year as opposed to last. I also think that we need a point guard who is a consistent threat. If we found that guy along with Rafer, we will definitly make a championship run. Please Trade Chuck Wagon and head for a PG! ;)

Chuck wont get traded, he is a low budget def specialist. Head for another PG wouldn't happen. Your either gonna have to give AB a chance or give up something of value.

IDK if other teams see Francis as a deal but other then Francis all we have is recently signed Landry. Pile Head on with Landry (Head gets rid of salary) and now it seems a little more interesting. You cant do Francis because thats just 2 PG's, one unproven and one aged. I would not dare trade Scola. Its just a hard situation now that were above the LT. We just need to ask RAlston to log more minutes :)
