Speaking of poor shooting in the preseason, Josh Smith went 1-for-12 from the FT line over the course of two games. He was 17-for-36 overall.

I believe that he, along with Rafer, are two of the worst mid-range shooters in the NBA, statistically, over the last few seasons. This begs the following question...

Who would you rather have taking a game-deciding 18-foot jump shot with time running out on the clock, Skip To My Brick or J-NotSoSmoove?

How in the world do you manage to end up shooting 8% from the 3pt line???? I bet even Shaq can shoot better than that.

8% is like 1-for-12 shooting. At the very least, I say Shaq can tie that.

I don't care what anybody says bout Rafer. When he was a Rocket he played his heart out. And yeah he was very inconsistent but the man spread the floor well and his passing was great. And whatever anybody says they cant take away win 22 when he was lights out on LA. Now whoever wants to talk mess I'll tell him where you live and he'll stab you. :D :D :D

There's only about a 38% chance he'll be able to hit his target with the knife.

No, no. You can bump that up to a 40% chance at close-range.

The problem with Rafer is the amount of shots he used to take, which was plenty at a low rate.

12 3-point attempts in 7 games isn't too bad, especially considering the 29,7 minutes per game.

In fact, he's only shot 43 times in 208 minutes, which isn't bad either.

Plus his job is not to score, and the fact he's a subpar shooter isn't helped by the fact that he doesn't even wanna be there so I doubt he cares a lick about how he's playing for the Nets.

As long as he isn't dropping the 'tear-brick' in a Rox uni, I'm cool....

I only wish Rafer becomes the starting PG for the Lakers or Spurs for the next 5 years. It would give the Rockets a fighting chance of getting to the Western Conference Finals for the next 5 years.

I'd love to know our record when Rafer had an above average game.

Attention all guys on this forum who have never played basketall before ( playing at the park dosent count )... Stats cannot measure a man's heart. Gimme all the stats you want.. but Rafer led a rockets team for an entire season to 50 wins under van gundy, and led the Magic thru the ENTIRE playoffs to the nba finals. He is so freakin meantally tough.. you guys wouldn't understand. He Is focused, and plays excellent D. He controls tempo, and is a low-mistake guy. Proven winner in this league He DOES miss a lot of shot that we believe should be made.. but to say he is garbage is straight up disrespect to the game. Stats are important to manage n direct a team.. but to measure a man's ability is un-true and unfair. all u dude's get off the PS3 and try to understand the game better.

The only thing he lead the team in was assists... and that's just from passing it to T-Mac or Yao and letting them do most of the work...

Rafer Alston is a complete moron out on the court because of his previous streetball connections. All flash and no fundamentals. All talk, but no game. There is a reason why he is flopping around from team to team in the NBA.

He cost Orlando title last year in my opinion. Orlando was close all of the games, but Rafer kept bricking. I really don't hate the guy, but ot was obvious Lakers had plan to leave Alston open....so he kept bricking and bricking.
But putting Nelson in the game was even worse. The bombs he let Fisher drop were the final nails in the coffin.
Carter was the best of three, but had issues.
