    That sounds interesting.
Rafer sucks. At least, Adelman should let Stevie has a try.

damn, without tracy, i'd love to have seen some mike jame/steve/rafer backcourt. but guess not. i'd love to yell at coach RA. but... i don't know what francis is doing... and i'm a huge francis fan. this sucks... watching rafer every damn game... last year and possible this year.

Our "CHAMPIONSHIP" PG is not currently on this team. We all can see that. Relax, we are still a few steps away. By the time we have that person (next year), TMAC will have two years left in him and then YAO will wrap up another 2-3 years of productivity (barring additional injury). That gives the Rockets a five year window to win two championships...

next year we won't have bonzi or possible francis. so that point guard better be good, or else we're screwed.

um... tmac = 2 years... that means we only have a 2 year window. you can't just add another 2 years and 3 years... everybody ages at the same time. we can't relax, becasue with tmac going, yao still have a long career, but then we have to find another damn star to be with yao.

For a "CHAMPIONSHIP" PG, all we need is someone that can penetrate and finish to keep the defense honest. If they can shoot above 35% from 3 pt range, that would be helpful, but the penetrating and finishing is the biggest aspect of what this team needs. We don't need a Tony Parker or Steve Nash because we have the best passing two in the league in Tracy.

So maybe you hate Steve also, but Im willing to let him prove his worth or not on the court in REAL games, not preseason or practice. I mean, didn't Averson remind us about: "PRACTICE? YOU MEAN PRACTICE? COME ON WE TALKING ABOUT PRACTICE RIGHT? PRACTICE? PRACTICE? I MEAN IT'S JUST PRACTICE...DOES ANYONE DOUBT WHAT I DO ON THE COURT? PRACTICE? COME ON MAN, IT'S JUST PRACTICE! :D :D

Rafer is a good passer and playmaker, but his shooting is horrible.

Mike James is a streaky shooter, I dont really like him at the PG..

Steve Francis talent wise is better than James and Rafer. But if Rick Adelman doesnt want to play him, he should have a reason. Either Steve cant get with the offense, out of shape, etc etc. If Stevie can do whatever he needs to do in practice, you'll be seeing him in the rotation

Some of you are living in the past.
Steve isn't better player than Luther Head,Rafer Alston or Mike James.
Faster you get it,better for you.
Also long time Rockets fans are nostalgic and think that Steve can be 3rd string on this team.
Can be,but if he works hard and plays hard and proves he's worthy of playing.
I surely don't want no ex-Bonzi,V-Span or Scotie Pippen but IT'S TIME for FRANCIS to step up and play more mature.
We started 6-3 until T-Mac's injury, played good against Spurs and off to good start.
I predict we're at 60% of our possibilites.

Ah, another banned poster who has come back BBall Scientist with yet another user ID...sheesh.....should we get Clutch to check your IP?

Or are you going to contribute to the thread in question? I didn't say start Brooks, but that he is probably the most complete PG on the roster at putting offensive pressure on the opposing team........That doesn't mean he is ready to start or play.

    SHEESH...

You should just chill a while maybe you will stay on the board longer this time.

I do like your moniker though...very creative.

You have no basis for you assumptions. I don't expect Steve to be the same Steve that was traded from here, but when your guards can't shoot, can't run and offense and can't defend, then you try something else. If you give Steve playing time and he sucks as bad as our guards are now, then by all means, throw is but back the bench, but at least try it. It can't be worse than the brickfest they have been throwing up. Plus, Steve has been doing everything he has been asked to do and hasn't caused any problems. I dont see how you can say he isn't being mature

The whole point of bring in guys like Mike, Steve and Scola was to have firepower for times when T-Mac or Yao went down, so that when we play without them, we aren't putting an L on the column.

rockets dont have the people on the floor to match the sun's penetration.

rafer shoots 5 turnovers from behind the arc.

sad to say but this is going to be a blow out

    rockets 88

    suns 110

Yo Clutch, here's what I'm thinkin we need...
Replace the 'rockets red glare' poll with a straight up approval vote on Raefer - like they do with president, congress etc... "do you approve of Raefer as our starting pg?" approve or disapprove. Then clear the count each week and track the weekly results below the poll. (ie week 1 43 approve/57 disapprove, week 2 40 approve/60 disapprove, etc..). With each member only getting 1 weekly vote, we will have a truer read on just where folks fall on Raefer - rather than who is more vocal about their opinion. Just a thought. Personally, I think we should organize a Francis jersey wearing night at one of the home games to show our support for Stevie.

Classic, coming from someone who has NO IDEA how Steve is performing.
