"We" can't. Daryl Morey can. He won't.

I think just for good measure, you might as well toss Brooks out there. He honestly couldn't do much worse than any of our current rotation PG.

I honestly am hoping for a trade to acquire a serviceable PG who can shoot at a decent clip (40% or above), bring the ball up the court (Sorry Luther Head), make an entry pass into Yao (Rafer excels at this more than any of our current PG), knows his role, doesn't play outside his role, and is at least 6'5 or taller. High standards I know.

If our five PG options (Brooks, Alston, James, Francis, Head) are all we'll have in our arsenal come April, I'd hope by then Francis and James would be in the rotation with Alston still starting but playing 15-20 minutes. Ideally Francis would close it out since he is clutch and play 20-25 minutes and be play more SG role while sharing minutes with James.

My hope for our starter/bench rotation come April would be

    Starters:

Alston (pains me to say it)
    McGrady
    Battier
    Scola/Hayes
    Yao

    Bench:

    James
    Francis
    Wells
    Scola/Hayes
    Mutombo

I'd like to see Brooks and Landry get some minutes if only to see if they could do any worse then their competition on this team. It's not like the standard of excellence for either player at their position is set especially high. Might as well see what they're made of while its still early in the season. I'm not expecting any major shakeup in the standings by the end of the season anyways. The Rockets will most likely have a 50-52 win season and will be battling it out again for the 4th seed against the Jazz or Nuggets. Just my thoughts.

Jason Kidd and Steve Nash are pass-first PG, but if you put them on any team they still will avg. more then 7 points a game and shoot a lot better. I mean on a team with Tracy and Yao he can only avg 4 apg thats just sad.

I cant think of anyone here who would put Rafer Alston in the same class as Nash or Kidd.

i think that if steve was in shape ,he would be the starter.don't you guys think that there is a reason why rafer always get to start even when they change coaches, obviously ,he must be doing something right on the court.i think rafer for now has an advantage over francis that is he knows where t-mac and yao wants the ball and know how to get it to them.Mike james is not a point guard,he is like a small shooting guard he wants to shoot at every opportunity that he gets.sure he try to control himself but his instinct is to score and that's why he should come off the bench to bring some offense.

You want to start a chant against our own player?!! Really...hmm....that doesn't really seem like a good idea, does it?

See thats the thing we don't know if Steve or AB are doing horribly in practice, but we do know one thing and that is Rafer is doing horribly in real games.

    Why Rafer is struggling now..

Rafer's been a fast break type guard all is life. This goes all the way back to his days playing streetball. Right now, this team is playing a lot of half-court offense, which doesn't play toward Rafer's strengths. Right now he looks like trash, but thats only because the fast break hasn't been established yet in this new offense. Adelman said that it'll take more time to get the offense down. When that happens, Rafer can then do what he does best: passing the ball.

Which is the safer(more likely correct) assumption:

    Rick Adelman hates Steve Francis

Francis play/attitude/weight is the reason he isnt seeing the court.

I always liked Rick as a coach, I liked how the Kings played when he was their coach. I liked his playing style. And if you would have asked me this queston a few games ago I would have picked the second one. But after tonight I think Rick just might have someting against Steve. There no way Steve shouldn't have been out there on the court with Tracy beeing out.

You compare Rafer, a 3rd tier point guard, to a pair of probable hall of famers and when he comes up short(duh!) you say he sucks??

Rockets should probably get rid of Chuck Hayes because he sucks compared to Kevin Garnett and maybe toss Battier to the curb because he isnt Tayshaun Prince or Paul Pierce.

If Snyder had been out there I might ahve agreed with you. But nobody was added to the rotation. The players there before just got more minutes.

    Clutch

You should create like a countdown on the homepage or something stating that Rafer is still our starting PG. Something like this:

    For some unknown
    reason Rafer Alston
    is still our starting PG
    and has been for the
    past:
    10
    games. This graphic
will be up on the homepage
    until we some changes.

What a pessimistic thing to do. We are Rocket FANS. We need to support our team rather than just criticize everything.
