Nobody is gonna take those two without making us pay through then nose. I think we'd have to give up draft picks, cash and/or Landry.
http://sports.aol.com/fanhouse/2007/11/19/steve-francis-the-anti-marbury/ Steve Francis, The Anti-Marbury Posted Nov 19th 2007 11:14AM by Bethlehem Shoals Filed under: Rockets, Western, NBA Gossip, Houston, The Word At this point, Stephon Marbury's became a bad caricature of an aging score-first point. That's why it's so odd that Steve Francis, who once followed in Marbury's footsteps, has become a model citizen in Houston. While Marbury freaks out over losing his starting spot, Francis grateful just to get minutes. And while Stephon's luring interns into his truck like a rookie, Francis has put his family life above personal glory. From the Houston Chronicle: But basketball was not the primary reason Francis returned to Houston ... Even before he finally played for the first time this season Saturday against the Suns, he said he was fine "because every morning I see my son and daughter." Go ahead, crack the joke about if Cuttino Mobley still lives around H-Town, too. But at the risk of getting serious, it's impressive that Francis has learned to keep his playing time in perspective. No matter what happens with the Rockets, it's clear that his moment in the sun is long past. He's now very wealthy, has a few All-Star appearances to show for it, and now just wants to be around his kids, Shailyn and Steven, and wife Shelby. That said, Francis isn't dead yet, and still might be of some use to the Rockets. It's nice to know, though, that he'll take to whatever role Rick Adelman cooks up for him
True, I think we can package MJ7 and Head to go together. Francis should start, Alston is the second string. and Let AB get some minutes.
I'm so pissed at Mike James, I traded him in NBA 2K8, overrated piece of crap scored me David Lee after I took some of the Knicks castoffs to even out the salaries.
youtube vid: Steve Francis Fist for Yao http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMxzrI09yis not sure if everyone knows it already. but Steve shows a lot of heart by doing that.
They are all streaky. Sometimes Bonzi pulls a great game out. Sometimes Alston actually hits his shots. Mike James is capable of lighting it up. But only Francis is the proven scorer night in and night out and a former all-star.
Agree. A lot streaky players on the team. Francis is not only the proven scorer night in and night out and a former all-star, he also a proven clutch player in many games and the recent one against Phoenix with that spectacular lay up and the unbelievable steal while falling.
Steve a no doubt the BEST guard we currently own. So bad he hurt the tailbone after he found his rhythm in the game and lifted the team in several games. Hope he will appear on the court in the coming game.
morey should contact the phoenix mecury。。。。。。Diana Taurasi is a heck of player GET IT DONE M.I.T. GRAD!
Francis has played the best in the limited time he has had, but it is too early to really say if he can keep it up. His shooting is improving, but some of you are exaggerating his scoring. Only 37 points for the season, which is less than Tmac had last game. That's not necessarily a knock considering he is playing the distributing PG role better than he ever has, but still not the huge scoring upgrade over Rafer or James that some of you are implying. His 3 pt shooting is at 20% which is the worst of the 3. The best thing has been his 6.33 AST/TO ratio which is a career best. If he had enough games to qualify he would be third in the league there, but then again Kirk Snyder has a 6/1 assist to TO ratio which would put him at 4th and it seems unlikely that those numbers can be maintained by either of them with increased minutes based on past history. Francis has been extremely foul prone and Adelman rates his defense as the worst of the 3 guards, but notes that part of that is probably conditioning. Steve will help us based on what we have seen, but Rafer and James have had good stretches of games as well. We need to see more games to determine how consistent Francis can be.
Tmac did the same thing for Yao when Nick Collison threw Yao to the ground during a game. The character of the players on this team can't be questioned.
