To be fair, I think Rafer is a great ball handler who knows how to pass. I think he'd be a fine pt guard to run alongside Francis. James, not so good because it's like automatic with a shot getting jacked up and right now his +/- is atrocious. Maybe you just sub James in limited minutes and see if he ever gets his stroke back.

If we play Head, I'd like to see him either running with Alston or Francis. Head needs to stay at the 3 point line and be a specialist.

If we play Brooks, I'd like to see him running alongside Francis with Brooks playing the Cuttino Mobley role. Brooks is deadly with that 3 point shot and he is really quick. Probably a better shooter than Head.

If Bonzi plays, since he's more of a post up rebounding guard, he probably is best with Alston. Alston is a good passer and runs the RA offense so well. Bonzi could relieve Steve Francis. If Bonzi and Steve play together, Steve would have to be the pt guard and Bonzi would be an off ball penetrator.

Don't hate, but my gut tells me that Rafer Alston and Steve Francis is the most efficient guard combo.

Rafer had a good night, but look at who was guarding him. He should have had a good stat line and he did. Every dog has his day. :p

I hope Francis is OK. He looked to really be hurting when he came out. So far, he's looking too good to keep off the court.

Rafer had good stats against the Clipper last season as well. And we know that they were leaving him wide open all game yesterday. Rafer did what he was supposed to do.

Steve Francis getting backing into the rotation might have motivated him a little as well.

again, I am not complaining. Your implications are that rafer will start but with less minutes (not 40). I agree with that; however, it was almost a given by many here that he would not be starting by mid-season. That also may be true; but I havent seen one thing from adelman this season indicating he will bench rafer.

Perfect time to trade Rafer and package Head with him.

After tonight's game, we can end the debate ppl. Steve Francis is back. He and Rafer should be in rotation. Mike James get few minutes, Head on bench.

Sometimes when our PGs lose their touch, we can still try Luther.

They certainly looked good playing together tonight. Steve and Mike looked decent as well. I have always liked the idea of Francis at the 2 and TMac at the 3. I still want to see Brooks in the mix. Bonzi appears to be playing himself out of the rotation. He made a big three, but several critical and untimely turnovers and that is becoming a habit of late.

In the late third or early fourth, James threw six straight post passes to Yao Ming. Didn't struggle with them or anything (you know, since Rafer is the only one who can make that pass).

Just had to point it out because I'm willing to bet that someone will post within 24 hours that Mike James shoots every time he touches it. ;)

I agree. Especially about Bonzi. If someone didn't watch the game, they might think his stat line was OK, but he was disrupting the Rockets offense when he was in there, and practically mugged Scola trying to take away his board. Bonzi has been going downhill since his hot start. I don't get it. It's like he's really pressing to the point where Adelman will have to sit him, and then he's going to get pissed. Storm clouds on the horizon with Bonzi.

I thought James looked pretty good and played within the offense. The competition is only a plus for the Rocks. Bonzi may need to take some pine time, along with Luther.

James is still a valuable piece and he won't always miss from the corner 3 ball.

Im happy the way francis is working his way in the lineup if adelman put him in from the beggining he would have tried to do too much right now he knows his role

    That's true Clutch,

I hate it when people only look at the box score and judge the guy's passing on his assists numbers.

I really like our rotations for tonights game. Everything seemed just right tonight. I like Rafer starting with Steve and James coming off the bench. I really liked Stevie playing at the end of the game too.

It just seemed like all three of the PGs were effective and productive when they were on the floor tonight.
