Francis was 2 for 6 in the first half with 2-2 on FTs. And Snyder was taking a bunch of bad shots late in the 4th...so no, Francis attempts came mainly during quality playtime.
Thanks for the clearup. Still, I thought Francis looked better than expected. I can see him picking up some playing time if he keeps this up.
I think Francis just needs to play more and wear off that 'Rafer effect' from having to sit down on the bench for so long and watch Rafer shoot the ball; it's a known psychological effect from having to watch the same thing over and over and over and over again. The remedy? Benching Rafer and starting SF3 so that no one is ever exposed to this kind of hazard again.
I wish Francis got some PT when we played LA, Memphis and SA when our PGs are not creating sufficient defensive pressure. We would probably won one or two.
It's sad that Adelmen played Francis when the game is lost. We may have won a few if Francis played in LA, Memphis or SA. But then those games were close and players who play poorly kept getting PT (hoping these players will play out of their funk). Adelmen should reduced their PT when they look like they were having an off night and let Francis/Synder/AB play.
Out of your own ass, because someone else came up with 37ppg on 40.9% shooting since Battier has been with the Rockets and we've manage to win most of the games by making Kobe play 1v5 and taking tough shots, I believe that is Battier doing an good job. I'm glad I made you laugh, your jokes never make anyone laugh. More gifted then you for sure, I agree. _ Blues
There is no question in my mind that AB is the future of the Rockets (eventually, once we clear out the PG glut and he gets more consistent play time in real games). Rafer and Luther need to go, somehow, some way...
Thats very true. Rafer even took it strong to the rim for 3 layups, probably the ONLY time this season he's even tried more than twice in a game. What we do know is Rafer shoots 2-8 to 3-8, or 3-9 to 4-9, hardly EVER going over 50% shooting in a game. Francis shoots between 3-8 to 5-8 REGULARLY, and thats a big difference over the season. Plus Francis And REGULARLY drives into the lane for points every game where Rafer might get 3 layups in a week. And when you drive you get more fouls called on the opposition. Francis rebounds more, defends about the same as Alston
He has desirable of esteemed characteristics or qualities within our PGs that renders him our starting PG. I'm sure Adelman and people with Basketball credentials/knowledge disagrees with you. Saying Rafer doesn't have value to the Rockets is like saying your tiny little penis is useless. It's small and won't impress anyone but you still need it to piss until you can get surgery to REPLACE it Your value to this board is occasional lame sarcastic jokes that don't make anyone laugh. Oh and also bringing up false information and failing to provide the source for it. Your credibility is horrible, just like Rafer's shooting. _ Blues
No, i am saying that the usage of the word "valuable" in that sentence you refered to is an adjective, not a noun.
Our guards all have very different skills. The point guard and shooting guard have very different jobs. The point guard is supposed to bring the ball upcourt. Beat the press. Set up the team and run the team's plays. Aside from that, the duty of a point guard is to breakdown the defense, penetrate, score, and distribute the ball. Alston - Does not breakdown defenses, does not score well, does not penetrate, distributes ok, and runs the teams play well. Should not be in the NBA Francis - Does breakdown defenses, should score well with playing time, does penetrate, new Francis looks much better in distributing ball and running team. Will get better with more playing time James - Does not breakdown defenses well and prefers to camp out at the 3. Distribute?? Penetrates sparingly. Mike James except for the freak season in Toronto where he had the green light to shoot has been a career 10-12 ppg guard. Typical NBA journeyman. He is a streaky shooter and teases us with his play at times. All the same things the fans and media were saying about him in Minnesota and why he lost the starting job there. He averages about 2.2 assists and he shoots career 43 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3 point. Better off the bench I think. Head- Very good at making hard cuts and getting open. He has a great 3 point shot. He handles the ball better this year. Good distributor but not penetration. Better as a 2 guard. Servicable bench player. Smart and knows the teams plays and can run the team. Does not breakdown defenses. Also a streaky shooter. Snyder- Very athletic, can breakdown defenses if he plays intelligently, more of a 2 guard as I don't see him as a distributor or playmaker. Moves well without the ball. T-Mac - Shooting guard - Ok well this is a moot point but ok here goes. Distributes well, penetrates, breaksdown defenses, runs the team well and is a ridiculous scoring phenomenon. Yeah he starts and stays in the game Brooks - Very quick, distributes, penetrates, runs team, breaks down defenses, very good outside shot, sometimes plays too fast and out of control but should improve with more playing time, moves well without the ball. Brooks epitomizes what a point guard should be. Bonzi Wells - Can rebound at a ridiculous rate. Penetrates well, more of a garbage player going after rebounds and putbacks. Very good at passing in traffic. Can score well, distribute, moves well without the ball and is very familiar with Adleman's offensive and defensive sets. Streaky with the scoring however. With all our guards, Alston should clearly not be getting the minutes he is getting. James has proven he can play at his career averages and thus is an NBA bench player. Snyder has flashes of brilliance and I would look to him as a bench player too. T-Mac, Wells, Francis, Head and Brooks should be getting the majority of playing time. I would be bring in Snyder/James/Alston as the situation required IMO Matchups with other teams.
who should play more or start ? I don' t care Tracy and Yao are the key to Rockrts. I missed Tracy today.
Head has probably been the most effective guard out of the group, so he definitely needs more minutes Instead of running Alston + James together, Adelman should start running Alston + Head together. As for Francis, it's nice to see him back. Eventually he will take over Alston's job, IMO.
Poprocks, Mike James doesn't break down a defense? I would say he's been our best penetrator (outside of maybe T-Mac) so far this season. What he's struggled with, somewhat uncharacteristically, is finishing on his drives. But he's definitely better at it then Rafer and Head. And he's got a floater which he can shoot over defenders with decent accuracy, while Steve depends on getting himself all the way to the basket (and, consequentially, he'll pick up an inordinate number of offensive fouls).
That was decent. By the way, how is that beastiality website youre running out of your apartment going? I thought I remembered you... you were that dude with the donkey from Clerks 2!!! So when we chant "you suck", it'll have dual meaning. Now we all now know what blastaway REALLY means. I won't need a code to your "gated-community" aka: apartment complex. We'll just wait for another car to come out and go in after it. Or I'll just get the code from your mom, er, your roomate.
