Alston didn't say anything that wasn't true. He's really got his head in the game and he's paying attention.

The Knicks tried throwing different defenders at Yao and even elected to front him and put a defender behind him as well. It's a tactic the Rockets had no problem solving, simply because it's they've become accustomed to it.

"We welcome that," said guard Rafer Alston, who had 20 points. "Now we have easy lanes to the basket because they have two guys on a guy who doesn't even have the basketball. We encourage that."

I Agree, Rafers played well for about 2 weeks against some crap teams. It's getting to his head. He's jacking up way more shots. As a basketball player myself, one thing that annoys me is when a teamate makes a shot and runs back down the floor directing and hollering at me where to go on defense. Rafer has been doing that quite a bit. You can tell it annoys some of the other players.

Beating the Knicks, Wizards then Knicks again has inflated his ego a bit. Lets wait till he plays New Orleans, Phoenix and Utah.-- See how pumped up he is.

I've been one of Rafer's biggest critics for sure, but as long as he keeps hitting that floater he can talk as much as he wants.

And to stick more along the lines of the threads intent, yeah, the Knicks suck. What's worse is that they have talent, but they still suck.

Why does he have to be a good point guard to make those (true) comments? Outside of Middle School I have never played basketball, and I could say the same things and be right.

Rafer has stepped up since Tracy’s been out...it is what it is. I don't see how anyone can find a negative in that. He's the point...the floor general....one of the team’s best defenders. He has to know where everyone is supposed to be at all times at BOTH ends of the floor. When you see players make a shot and then come down pointing to their teammates where they need to go.…if that annoys his teammates, its probably because they’re on the playground somewhere and that cat directing traffic is imitating a pro. If Skip hits a shots and directs the defensive where to be, how can you see negative it that? You can tell the players are getting annoyed? Where do you see that? I think it just annoys you and that’s cool…no one can tell you how to feel.

I'm pretty sure Knicks fans wish they had Skip to my Lou instead of Starbury on their team. He's a true point guard!

Nothing wrong with a guy telling you where to go on defense since most of the time they only tell you to pick up on someone who's wide open. If that annoys you, then maybe you play with some scrub who thinks he's Steve Nash or something.

You got that right. I have never seen a more disorganized team. It boggles the mind that Isaiah Thomas is still working in the NBA.

Rafer's been playing well since he got here. In case you haven't noticed, the team completely falls apart every time he's off the floor (and that includes when the team has T-Mac).

He played 82 games for the Rockets last year, and was playing ridiculous minutes. He's been nothing less than a mark of stability for an otherwise unstable Rockets team.

Again, this is where Rafer fans go way overboard. He's been playing awesome lately, but I don't understand how people can appreciate how good he's been without realizing how bad he's been in the past.

The ballhandling and the defense has always been solid from Rafer since he's been here.

The shooting and finishing his drives has suddenly been good these past few games without TMac. That's always been Rafer's achille's since he's been here.

That the Rockets fall apart when Rafer is off the court in the past just says volumes about the backup PG situation in the past.
