In Sac, bibby and BJ aren't true points. in the half court, the centers and Forwards were the big assist men moving them out of the paint for the gaurds to cut.
Thanks for the info. Don't let the flamers get to you. Legit info is much appreciated by most of us here. Haslem would be perfect for this team. If we get Haslem for Rafer, I'm guaranteeing a championship. If SVG wants Rafer, I'd love to get Battie. Though, I doubt they would give him up because they need big men.
exactly how I feel...... MJ is poor man's SF3, now we have the real SF3 back, can we just trade him away? I'm sure he will be totally pissed though
no way in hell we are trading Mike James. hes our best 3 point shooting guard that can also create his own shot. his penetration is also underrated. If anything Francis is a poor man's Mike James.
Do you guys pay attention to the NBA? Stop being seduced by the name Steve Francis. He is a shell of his former self, he never took care of his body by working out and it has caught up to him. I'm happy with 10mpg max from him.
I'd actually prefer that we just stand pat for now and get rid of our players by trading for draft picks.
Seriously guys, WE NEED RAFER! He's the only pass-first PG on our team. Francis and James, no matter how talented they are, are not pure PG!! Rafer is an asset to our team! Without Rafer, this team would be chaotic!
Rafer is NOT a pass-first PG. He took the third most shots on the team despite being the worse shooter in the league. He did NOT "run the team" either because T-mac did. T-mac had the ball 90% of the time so all Rafer did was dribble across halfcourt, pass to T-Mac, and spot up for 3. He almost led the NBA in 3 pointers attempted. All you people calling him a "pass first PG who ran the team well" are living in a fantasy world. The only way that may seem true is because V-Span, Luther, and JL3 were so inept that they had negative value at point guard. How can you "run a team" or create when you can't shoot and you are too slow to get past defenders? Rafer is dead weight and its time for him to go. When he plays nobody guards him so the offense is 5 on 4 and if chuck Hayes is in its 5 on 3.
getting rid of rafer would be the final piece to the puzzle and improve our chemistry since players won't have to fight over min. Rafer, Luther and Battier for Camby
I would be so happy if this happened... Trade Rafer Alston & Justin Reed for Jeff Foster. The Rockets would get that rebounder that McGrady wants and it helps to open a roster spot by trading 2 for 1... 2007-08 Depth Chart 1) Steve Francis / Mike James / Aaron Brooks 2) Tracy McGrady / Luther Head / Kirk Snyder 3) Shane Battier / Bonzi Wells / Steve Novak 4) Luis Scola / Jeff Foster / Chuck Hayes 5) Yao Ming / Dikembe Mutombo / Jackie Butler That's a complete team, the only thing I could think of that could getting in the way of success is chemistry.
adelman teams just need a guy to set a pick for the guards.. lol ima miss rafer. even though he shot horrible but he's a pretty cool guy
I've been throwing out that Rafer/Novak or Head for Haslem deal for a few weeks now and it makes perfect sense. Seriously, it does. The Heat are in dire need of a point guard than most will realize and a healthy Rafer Alston is worlds better than an injured Jason Williams. Tack on the 2nd player we have to give up in order to make the salaries work (either Novak or Head), the Miami Heat just filled in holes that they couldn't have a few weeks ago. They get a starting point guard in return and a replacement shooter to fill the shoes Kapono left. They lose their starting PF but Haslem's been rumored to be on the trading block for a while now and this also opens up the door for Dorrell Wright (I'd include him too but Antoine Walker is far from being a productive piece). Yao/Butler Haslem/Scola/Hayes Battier/Wells McGrady/Snyder Francis/James/Brooks Deep, deep team. Hell, you can rest Yao and McGrady at the same time and still be productive: Butler Scola Battier James Francis
The day Jeff Van Gundy gets another coaching job, Rafer will be at his doorstep begging for a starting job. Seriously though, I have nothing but respect for both of those guys. Rafer still can't shoot though.
I'm thinking right on! Cept include Butler with that group too. What has he proven that he can do? I'd trade that whole group, keep rafer and get a decent PF.
I don't know if The Heat would give up Haslem because they would become very thin at the power forward position. I personally would be so happy if we trade Rafer Alston and Justin Reed for Jeff Foster. This addition would give what McGrady said he still wanted more of, rebounding. Foster averaged 8 rebounds a game in only 23 minutes of play last season. The thing I liked with the addition of Francis is when Yao leaves the court, The Rockets will still be very productive running and gunning. The Rockets might even average more than 100 PPG next season.
I'm still wondering why he only played 23 minutes a game last season. Haslem is a career 9/8 guy playing 30 minutes a game shooting at a 50% clip. Foster might be taller and more defensively polished, but in a faster tempo game, I'd choose Haslem. And besides, don't Indy have their "great" point guard in Jamaal Tinsley already?
