Rockets already had the record-breaking, worst offense run by Rafer and JVG last season and in the playoffs. people still want Rafer as starting PG  .

Wasn't it Rafer "Skip To My Lou" Alston the same pure point guard that was pulled out of the game during crunch time last year during the regular season? Or was that the other low-percentage shooting and poor FT shooting starting point guard that we had?

I was actually thinking the same thing; lots of changes will take a while for them get to know each other and learn the system.

My training partner from when I played is in the front office for Cleveland. I think I have mentioned this guy once before. Last year he told me we were talking to the Lakers about JH for Cook and Mihm before Mihm had to have season ending surgery so I backed up some other cat that decided to post about JH. Needless to say I was torched along with him when It did not happen. I ussually don't get a lot of Rocket Info out of CLeveland unless they are involved but he does hear the floaters that are put out by the trading team to try to drive up the asking price for their player and try to get other teams to jump into the bidding.

when I e-mailed him today to rag him about us getting Stevie, I asked him what the hell we are going to do with all these gaurds and if he wanted to take a few off our hands for Lebron since the boy wonder is on a roll. He responded back with the same answer I would have given: go f yourself. But he said whispers are circulating of the boy wonder still talking to Miami about some type of package including Rafer for Udonis Haslem and he is hearing New Orleans was interested in JL3 for a 2nd as also reported in the Chronicle. When this doesn't happen, you can flame me relentlessly as you did the last time and I'll go in hiding for a few months. Just found this interesting that he had heard we were talking to Miami. He also said SVG still has a soft spot for Rafer in his heart but had not heard about us talking to Orlando.

Take it for what it is worth, rumors floating through an NBA front office. As I said, this could be a Miami generated rumor to try to get others to bid on Haslem.

Hayes is a young player that's still improving if they're going to roll the dice on developing young talent... (I think the Rockets think he'll be a starter down the line, though he isn't that yet). IMO one of the best rebounders in the league stays and the second round draftee with a disappointing SL and without a contract is used as trade bait.

Yea. I just read that and have been out all day. I didn't find out until an hour ago when my brother called me to say "do you think the Boy wonder is a genious or an Idiot" and I hit chron.com. and emailed my boy. Just now read the JL3 thread while I was listening to the McGrady interview from Hilltopper and still playing catch up. If somebody already mentioned Haslem too, disregaurd all this. Found it interesting in Tracy's interview he said we still need a rebounding 4.

If Rafer is dealt...the only true point gaurd we have is Aaron Brooks....Bad idea.

Wow haslem is much better than chuck... if that happened then I retrace what I have said about Morey and give him a A+ for offseasone moves... I don't think their is any other team who has had a more productive off-season than us..

Also wouldn't it be funny if Chuck signed with Miami?

here is my take on the true PG:

In Adelman's system, at least from what I saw in his kings team, PG's job are more on the attacking side than distributing. I can see a lot of plays, ball will be brought up dish to Yao at high post, everybody cutting and screening, Yao finds the open guy.

I also think shooters are important in Adelman's system, which we dont have that many right now. This is why I opt for trading away Rafer, and keep Head and Novak unless for some real talent.
