The Blazers are sort of catching on and might win a couple games, might fall out of the Top 3 or 4.

He was a better building block then and now and it was easy to see. He's a modern day big man who can defend out on the perimeter and has a high bbiq. Jalen was a shot in the dark of wishful thinking. If you could have that pick back, this team would be further ahead.

He's certainly better than Green but I'm not so sure he would be drafted second again.

Don't really view it as franchise altering, missing out on Paolo and Wemby are. We are still very much TBD, which isn't the same thing as "tanking was a failure".

He could have had Maxey. Stone is a terrible gm.

Held on to KPJ until it blew up in his face (Green and Jabari aren't looking like good picks) terrible FA deals. What's he good at again?

Stone is getting unfair hate from fans again. He is still playing 4-D chess and hedging his way to more assets. The Mikal Bridges trade was contingent on the Nets getting picks back, so I don’t understand why it matters when they’re tanking now. This was a really good move however you look at it.

    We Have More Assets

Traded 1 unprotected swap and 1 unprotected pick for 2 unprotected swaps and 2 unprotected picks.

Don’t Sleep on the 2029 Swaps

We have the 2 most favorable Mavs/Suns/Own picks. You ever know what will happen 2 years out, much less 5 years out. These can be high lottery picks for all we know.

Our Nets Swap Increased in Value

The Nets were dysfunctional last year and barely made the play-in. We really should have gotten a late lottery pick, but got extremely lucky. This was likely the case for next few years.

We Extended Own Timeline and Increased Flexibility

You want picks and assets further out, so our young players can grow and hit their prime while retaining assets. It’s difficult to make trades in the NBA and we don’t want more young players next year. Therefore, it makes sense to push picks further out.

The Nets were doing that trade with or without getting their picks back. The only thing getting their picks back impacted is they are no longer willing to put together a scrub team that would be better than the tanking teams. I'd guess they would finish 7th or 8th worse with scrubs.

Superb triangulation by Stone. He knew that the Nets could not trade Bridges without going through him. The leverage he had on them, he now has on the Suns, who hold a bigger prize in Booker. Whether we end up with Booker or not remains to be seen, but if there is another deal out there that presents itself, he now has a blueprint to show that team the value of these Suns picks.

I believe this isn't the case. If so, can you site your source?

Per Ben DuBose (Rockets media) - "The first deal (Nets/Knicks) was contingent on the second (Nets/Rockets)".

OP is super smart, so I trust what OP says.

Stone better repay the positive words by following OP's advice and drafting Reed Sheppard tonight.

And by never trading Alpi and Tari.

People treat this like the Rox are in a race with Brooklyn or Phoenix.

If they want to be contender they have to make moves like the big lads - OKC, Boston, Dallas.

I do not view being another Phoenix as successful in this league no matter how ppl slice it.

And no Booker is no superstar in my books still but pretty close.
