Because their favorite was traded, that's why.

It’s kind of funny that Stone is the reason we’re hard capped. Morey would’ve constructed the deals in a way that you still had your veteran minimum.

I think it's a matter of sematics. Perhaps he should have used the word "project" players.

Every single youngster is still developing, but unlike previous seasons, they must be guys the Rockets are confident will contribute this year. The Rockets were not confident Cam would finally screw his head on and play for the team instead of just himself and his own ego. So they shipped him off to a team that doesn't give a flip about winning games and competing for a championship.

Stone makes it seem like he expects Reed to take a major leap this year, or else. I guess it does make sense seeing how our guard depth is so shallow.

I get the philosophy, but honestly the words to rationalize things don't matter, which was understandably expected. All that matters is the outcomes on the court over the years, which no one knows what will happen.

The first year should be fun, hopefully they made the right bet, we'll see what happens over future years.

We do have room for a veteran, I just don't think he is in a hurry to sign anybody since the rotation is likely obvious from the players we already have. Would be nice to get another scoring combo guard from the bench, but I guess the Rockets don't see that as important.

Not sure about this without waiving Nate unless FVV's salary isn't a flat $25M each season. Using Spotrac's data and estimates (which I think can't go lower other than FVV), it looks like the Rockets only have $1.6M from the 1st apron after Jeff Green and Holiday are added.

I'm not sure if this was the original plan but I understood it as 3 phase plan with phase 3 being able to compete for championship so we are in phase 3.

Basically I believe he meant that they cannot afford to have too many players developing at the same time with their current squad that would be beneficial for that particular player.

To me Stone is saying “we’re not a developmental team anymore” ever since we hired Ime Udoka.

Developing players requires court time unless they are spending time in the G League which it is far past the point for Cam to be in the G League. For Cam it was either 20+ minutes a night here or move him.

    We moved him.

I think it is too early to tell with Reed but for now Amen. Sengun, Jabari and Tari are the future.

This is disingenuous - I do think Ime didn't want Cam, Stone believed in him, but didn't want a disgruntled guy in the clubhouse and did the best to find Cam a good situation and did, I also think Cam didn't want to be here if he wasn't going to play, and you can't blame him for that - he is trying to get that 2nd contract....wouldn't be able to show that here, he is not a role player, he is a potential lead dog and needs to show that.

I don't buy the not a development team when we have Reed, Amen, Jabari, Tari, and Sengun all still developing.

We were NEVER going to keep everyone, I know that, I would have chosen to keep Cam as I think he will be very very good and very soon, sooner than some on this team now.

But they went all in on KD, let's hope it works out.......as Rockets fans I think we can all agree on that.

Rafael Stone would make a Terrible Lawyer.

Rafael Stone would work for free for prisoners that have no chance. Stuttering and Sweating, Slipping his words.

Kim Kardashian has a better shot in freeing a prisoner. At least she has passion in acting.
