Um, first off, across, I said I was one of the "biggest" radiohead fans here (like you) and not the "resident" one.

Second of all, I will tell you with my infinite wisdom to listen to these Coldplay songs:

    "Shiver"
    "Spies"
    "Politick"
    "The Scientist"

If you actually listen to these 4 songs and still think that these 2 bands sound the same, then there is nothing else that I or anyone else can say to you about this matter. Period.

word. i think Coldplay stinks and I would rather not listen to them, thanks. i could really care less.

can't wait till the concert (Radiohead that is).

regardless, some people compare the two and they will continue to do so, period.

oh, and Amnesiac was NOT a subpar album, just an extension of Kid A in my opinion.

its all relative, eh Manny? there can never be an end-all/be-all when it comes to art, beacause it is different for each participant.

    across,

Fair enough and I agree with the last part of your post. Sorry for snapping at you, but I get annoyed at people saying that Coldplay is "Radiohead Lite". Maybe I should consider that a compliment for them, but I think they are their own band. Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion, but I think you are missing out on Chris Martin and the boys. However, Radiohead, IMO, is still the best band out there; I just wanted to give Coldplay their due props, as well.

I have really tried to give "Amnesiac" a chance but I just can't get into it like I did with "The Bends", "OK Computer" and "Kid A". I think "Hail to the Thief" will satisfy me more than "Amnesiac" did, but that run of those 3 albums ("The Bends" to "Kid A") will be one that will never be topped by any other artist, IMO. Mainly because all 3 of those albums were so DIFFERENT from each other. That right there is a sign of greatness.

My top 10 Radiohead songs are:

    1) "How to Disappear Completely"
    2) "Black Star"
    3) "Paranoid Android"
    4) "Kid A"
    5) "High and Dry"
    6) "No Surprises"
    7) "Fake Plastic Trees"
    8) "Treefingers"
    9) "Airbag"
    10) "Motion Picture Soundtrack"

I agree with you Manny on the fact that All three of the Radiohead albums from the bends, OK Computer, and Kid A are diffrent but good in there own right.

But the bends is still my favroite album of theres and I dont think that will change.

No one has mentioned their superior B-Sides yet.

    Punchdrunk Lovesick Singalong
    Polyethylene (parts 1 & 2)
Big Boots aka Man O' War
    Lift

Four insanely beatiful pieces. Would put most other bands' best work to shame.

Mine would be a tie between Street Spirit (Fade Out) and Airbag. I saw an amazing version of Street Spirit on 120 Minutes (remember that show?) and that's when I first got into Radiohead. I love that Airbag riff....not to mention the sleigh bells during the middle part. Come on, SLEIGH BELLS!! :D

true love waits and "Talk Show host" are two of the more rarer Radiohead songs. "Talk Show Host" was in "Romeo & Juliet" and they play true "Love Waits", a beautiful song, live.

Most of you guys seem like you like Radiohead a lot, so you have probably heard this song before.

But if you havent try out "The Mess Were In" It has Pj Harvey on the song to.

If you have not heard it try it out and tell me what you think.

I initially thought that Radiohead and Coldplay sounded a bit alike but I've changed my mind since getting to know Coldplay's stuff better. I think because both bands have great tenor singers and play semi-tripped out songs, they get compared a lot. Plus, any Brit band that comes out gets compared to Radiohead. Its just like a lot of b-ball players unfairly are compared to Michael Jordan.. I would say that Radiohead are much more edgy and experimental while Coldplay is a little more jazzy at times..

    Anyway, my favorite Radiohead songs:

    1) How to Disappear Completely
    2) Paranoid Android
    3) Street Spirit (Fade Out)
    4) Stop Whispering
    5) Lucky
    6) Bones
    7) Let Down
    8) High and Dry
    9) Exit Music For a Film
    10) Bulletproof (Wish I Was)
    11) No Suprises

Those are not necessarily in order but it just so happens that I've learned every single one on the ol' piano.. they are fun to play.

I almost pissed my pants when I heard that opening riff at the Woodlands show. I never thought they'd play that one.

Does anyone know if and when Radiohead will be touring the States again? Specifically, when they might swing through Texas?
