Merge Rafer Alston and Luther Head into one.

Luther Alston, prototypical, no All-Star NBA point guard.

Hahaha, I love it... Luther Alston, a.k.a. Rafer Head. The solution. Make it happen, Morey!

The Cavs also have three point guard options in Delonte West, Mo Williams, and Booby Gibson. All are good shooters but none of them is a true point guard.

They've been starting Williams and West together in the backcourt and bringing The Boob off the bench. But you're right, they are all combo guards and the Cavs may be willing to do something for a true PG.

Not a bad idea. Luther cant dribble or pass correctly but Rafer can while Rafer cant make wide open shots  but luther can. Not bad i love it :D . All in all it just reminds me of another Aaron Brooks :D

I wonder if anyone's tried hypnotism with Rafer? Lots of latitude there. ;)

This begs the question, this team does not need a true break em down PG, it is more important to have one that protects the ball makes a good solid entry pass and can knock down a wide open jumper.

At least on the starting unit, as Yao clogs the lane and is not a good receiver of the ball on the drive pass.

Hinrich is great at all the things I mentioned and would be an upgrade over sideways jumpshooting Rafer.

Hinrich would be an upgrade over Rafer no doubt, but at what cost? You won't be able to get him without giving up something. If Landry and Scola are off limits, we have nothing the Bulls would want. They have no need for Shane. They need PF's or Centers that can score, because they have no inside scoring threat. They are set at SF, SG, and PG.

One of Memphis' plethora of pgs would be a better bet, but I'm not sure picks and expirings will work for that either. They are in full re-building mode, so Shane would do nothing for them. They might take Landry and picks, but I doubt it since they have Arthur and Warrick.

More radical thinking, Head and Rafer for Ben Gordon. Bulls will lose Gordon anyways after this year, might as well get Ben Gordon light with cheaper contract. Contracts should match up.

Elevate Brooks to starting PG, then backups are by committee of Barry, TMac, and Gordon.

Bulls are potentially looking at having $20M on their bench in the backcourt if they re-sign Gordon. There are some suggestions in the media Gordon is gone but money is money. If the Bulls show it IMO Gordon signs it.

    Rafer + Head(expiring) +Francis(expiring) + Wafer(non-guaranteed)

Luxury tax might or might not be a concern. The Rockets could get creative and sign 2 non-guaranteed contracts to make the 13 player minimum, then on/after Jan 10 sign a series of NBL players to 10 day contracts until the playoff roster deadline where they sign Deke, 3rd PG, etc if it's possible to stay under LT that way. Then there is the simpler option of salary dumping Hayes.

A lot of teams are hampered by LT. If the Bulls look for expirings or salary dump IMO the Rockets have a good chance unless Portland step in. Pritchard was said to have been interested in Hinrich last season.

Hinrich's contract is worse than Marko Jaric's. Would you trade Shane Battier for Marko Jaric and a first rounder? Memphis would be all over that deal.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/featur...s=11~976~387~2794&teams=29~29~10~10&te=&cash= Hakim Warrick would be a nice rental, but Battier is a winner. I'm sure if there was a trade out their involving Battier and an upgrade at the PG spot, Morey would have pulled the trigger by now.

I did a little checking and a Luther Head for Javaris Crittendon trade would work straight up. Crittendon hasn't seen the floor this year, but I have been extremely impressed by him. He has 3 years left on his contract and Head's is expiring. Head plus our number 1, might get it done. I also put together this one:

    Luther
    Hayes
    Francis
    Dorsey
    No. 1

    for

    Crittendon
    Darko

    Why Memphis does it:

2 expiring contracts and no. 1 pick. Useful bench player in Hayes and hometown hero with Dorsey.

    Why Houston does it:

Crittendon will allow us to sit Rafer down.
Darko is the perfect backup for Yao and only has a year left on his contract.

All I want is a PG who can hit the wide open three, can bring the ball up the court and is atleast average on defense. Is this so hard to find?

Not hard to find, but hard to get. Crittendon is all that, so is Lowry.

If we don't want Rafer, why would the bulls? They would be better off letting Gordon walk. If Rafer's contract was expiring we might get someone to bite.

Morey won't bite on Hinrich, the contract sucks and Morey is a money guy. Plus Chicago has like 5 guards, why would they want three more?

Hinrich for Head, Rafer, and Hayes. The trade works on realgm and espn trade checker. Hinrich doesn't want to play second fiddle to the native of Chicago, Derrick Rose. The Rockets finally get a decent PG. The Bulls get a veteran backup for Rose, an expiring contract in Head, and a good rebounder and defender in the post in Hayes. Get it done Morey!

I doubt Morey would be willing to give up Hayes. Maybe Dorsey instead!?

Either Dorsey or Hayes would be fine by me...even giving up Hayes you have upgraded your top 6.

You gotta give up something. Bull's also get a contract that's half as much in terms of salary and length in Rafer Alston. This would be a good trade for both teams.
