    Battier? Francis? Luther?

Not all of them but maybe a combination of 2 of the above.

They're not getting them. This is where Morey pulls his Wizard hat and pulls a fast one on Paxson. They can have Francis' expiring though.

Actually if we can pry Thabo from them in the Salary match equation...

    Hinrich's contract lasts until 2012.

Is that the same as Battiers?

I think Hinrich will maintain a quality level of PG play until that time and with Rose there, he is not going to be playing PG......

    Get r done Morey....

Unless he thinks they can get a free look at Marbury first...

yeah.. as much as we are disappointed in rafer it's still early in the season.. i seriously hope he gets it together.. he was pretty much worthless on offense against the defending champs and made a crucial turnover when we were building momentum... i still believe

Once Battier is healthy you can start AB, Mac, Artest, Scola, and Yao thn come off the bench with Battier, Barry, Landry, Chuck, and maybe Deke once he's signed. Boy do I miss Sura....

Alston isn't expiring but he's a salary dump for them.

Alston + Scola/Landry + Francis/Head = Hinrich. I'm sure the Rockets can figure a combination or following trade/s that would get them under LT.

So many teams are creating salary space for 2010. Would it be better to have the assets to try a S&T? Extra contract year and higher annual rise.

If Rafer doesn't pick up that idiotic technical foul, we're only down by 3 at the end there.

Same could be said if Tmac hits 3 free throws, and who knows if the same play would have been drawn up and executed the same if we were down 3 instead of 4... but still the point remains...

    GET RED... OF RAFER.

Or Yao makes a couple of those gimmes. Or Artest makes more of his FTs. Or Rafer AND Garnett get double techs instead of Rafer getting the single one. etc. etc.

Although the country is crying, it's time for change, with the Rockets, that time is not quite here yet. But it could be coming.

For those people who think this is a "One game" reactionary thread I give you.

4 years of Rafer sucking in Houston

    FG% 38.09 (HORRIBLE)......

The guy can NOT shoot......and he has had 4 years to prove it......Rafer SUCKS.

We can not continue to let a guy who stinks that bad bring the rest of the team down........find someone that can at least hit the jumper when Tmac, Yao, and Artest are doubled.....

Rafer + Battier for Hinrich works trade wise.

It frees up cap space for the Bulls going forward....fewer years on Battier and Rafer's deal.

And Rafer is the poison pill they have to swallow to even up the trade....

    I would do this.....

    Rafer/Battier/Francis for Hinrich/Sefolosha/Noah

    Trade Machine accepts this.

We get a wing that can play defense to compensate for Battier's loss. Noah can backup Yao, yeah I know Noah is a spaz but he's a serviceable backup C.

honestly, i like that trade by v3.0..we get a PG and a very much capable backup C..Thabo can defend...but after that, we should make sure to lock up Artest..

I'd say keep Battier. Artest isn't a lock to re-sign. Battier could be a valued trade asset in 2010.

IMO Landry would be the one to move. Question mark still lingers over the durability over his knees. Also every second team seem to be uncovering undersized impact PFs.

omg, you guys are so short sighted! I know that as fans we tend to overreact, but you cannot possibly say that steve blake is better than rafer alston. Getting blake in would mean getting someone less talented but one who can perform more consistently.
blake is a career 40% shooter, and i don't believe i need to go on......

Blake is better than Rafer....for this Rockets team...he is a better shooter and can dribble the ball almost as well.

The Rockets need a PG that can hit that wide open shot that the other 4 generate.

It is more important to this team than to most others...because of the others on the floor.

Blake and Rafer are not that different in overall abilities but in team fit...Blake blows Rafer out of the water.

Someone like Matt Maloney or Eldridge Recasner would be making a killing out there with those open looks.

We don't need to trade Shane. Just find someone who can hit an open jump shot and dribble the basketball above a high school junior varsity level.

Unfortunately neither of our two options after Brooks (Rafer/Head) can do more than just one of those things.

wow i really like this trade, but there's no way the bulls would give up their last 2 first round pick for battier. no way. besides, we don't need noah. i would be fine wif juz having safolosha.

No trade is needed. The easy solution is to play Brooks/Barry more. And its already starting to happen. Alston used to get 36 minutes a game the past two seasons and now he's averaging 30. You don't have to start them, just play them more.
