Out of curiosity to those of you who disagree with this woman's behavior - and keep in mind, I'm just asking and not advocating either side.... But when is it okay to voice suspicions like this without it being racism? What if they WERE terrorists? Their race doesn't MAKE them such, but what if they were? What if a woman on one of the planes that hit the towers on 9/11 had done something similar to this and was ridiculed for being racist, decided she was overreacting and calmed down to continue her flight - then ended up in a building? Or better yet, had done something similar and caused those terrorists to be questioned and found out? Wouldn't we be applauding her as a hero right about now? It's not fair to stereotype at all....but.... What I'm asking is - what's the solution? It's not as easy as some of you are making it out to be.
Looking "suspicious" or having a beard isn't enough to distinguish someone as a terrorist. It's up to the airlines to define what suspicious behavior is. I guess people are incapable of using common sense. The terrorists succeeded because people didn't know their intentions. Terrorists will never be able to hijack a plane and fly into a building again because now people know that they have to fight back. So really, unless a guy smells like chemicals or has wires sticking out - you don't have much reason to think they are a terrorist.
And this is why I always shave before boarding a plane (hispanic, but facial hair makes me look like a terrorist)
