Man... just what is the "Taiwanese attitude"? If all your "Taiwanese friends" were punk rock skaters, does that make Taiwan sk8er heaven? Try to see it an open perspective. He might have different reasons for loving Japan, like the anime or the Zen culture. Or you might be right, that he's one group of many different Taiwanese. You're selling one ethnicity short, and the way you think, you might be selling out others too.
Thanks for writing this, it was extremely well thought out. After growing up in Oregon, I can say that I wouldn't expect anything less out of UW than that drivel from The Daily Ignorant (sounds like a Shaq nickname) Seriously, though, one thing I hate about being in college is that crap like this is actually printed. What is with all the Japanese and Taiwanese hating? I realize how horrific the Nanking tragedy was but do these types of post belong on this board?
