Only in the minds of the intolerant, ignorant, and/or racist.

Why some groups have it more than others? Because there are some sharper differences and less understanding of those differences, between some races. It's not that hard to figure out.

no but i do think its just an easy pile on deal. like people make a lot of jewish jokes just because other people make jewish jokes, am i kind of getting across my point?

if you were talking about ethnic groups actually having their stereotype, then that is true too. stereotypes are not just something that are made up.

Another Brother, I was asking an honest question, intended to encourage discussion. You attempted to suppress discussion, presumably because your own feelings of self-worth were threatened. I will not stoop to your level of insulting people in this thread. A polite suggestion to you would be to cool down with regard to racial matters. Not everything is an attack on your personally.

    I didn't post this...

...pick your battles wisely J, don't try to call me out just because the most accurate description of yourself has been realized by a poster who is not black.

Another Brother, do you feel that some component of racism is "earned"?

thats true and we also have no quantitative way of measuring racism that i know of. it is just annoying when people only think of racism in terms of black and white and not in terms of all races.

Ask FranchiseBlade, I'm pretty sure I'd second his response.

The component that deals with what Haven experienced -- being suspicious and/or leery about selected races as a result of pre-conditioning from societal experiences.

Especially since we Asians were doing that on our own back in the old country you white and black devils!

On the subject of racism in America I believe that minorities can and are racist but the problem has been what group has the power. So while Blacks, Latinos, Asians and others have harbored racists attitudes these groups didn't have the power to act on it through societal institutions.

Do I think that the kid on the bike brought racism on himself?

You mix racial experiences with dangerous situations. Haven should have been concerned because of a dangerous situation, whether the kid was black or white is really not the issue.

I get a little nervous around bikers (the hells angels type), not because they are white but because they are some scary mofos! I could claim that since they are traditionally white and their image embodies violence and rock and roll, I should be racist against them; But that simply isn't real, at least not for me.

So you would agree that an average racial minority that felt that everytime he/she gets slighted for any reason (fired, reprimended in school, by supervisor, get a ticket, etc) is warranted since the racial majority (white people) have plenty of past examples of racism. Wow, that seem to be a different point coming from TJ

No, aboslutely no component of racism is earned. Not even that against whites in our country. That is despite the fact that as a race they have committed worse genocides, had more horrible slavery, discrimination, criminal activity, oppression of other groups, and the downtrodden, committed more acts of terrorism, as well as have had the power base in this country, etc.

Obviously, there are bad apples in every race. I'm also not saying that because whites have done all these things, and held all the power, that other races have excuses to not participate, live up to their potential, etc.

    What is EARNED mean anyway

I think the biggest issue is that folx
    react out of experiences

the major issue is people act out of experiences not their own
More folx are racist because of their parents than of anything
    they them selves have seen

    also
Racism for many is a reaction to Racism
    it feeds on itself

xxxx folx hate me. . so I'll hate them back - mentality of some folx

Racism is far far more complicated than simple statements
made in an attempt to bait someone into saying something
that can be twisted and misinterpreted
