The only reason why I came across this was from watching the Colbert Report and the Daily Show (hey, there is no CNN or Fox easily avaliable in HK ) But I have to say, it's very easy to show how people are willing to jump the gun, although in this case I'm not surprised they did. Lol, just shows how the next time Fox or some right wing pundit shows 'incriminating' evidence of any wrong doing, next time it's safer to check the whole story before acting.
The most amazing thing about this is that after the evidence is shown to be fraudulent some people will still defend it.
this may be the last (and best) word on this whole affair. <table style='font:11px arial; color:#333; background-color:#f5f5f5' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='360' height='353'><tbody><tr style='background-color:#e5e5e5' valign='middle'><td style='padding:2px 1px 0px 5px;'><a target='_blank' style='color:#333; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.thedailyshow.com'>The Daily Show With Jon Stewart</a></td><td style='padding:2px 5px 0px 5px; text-align:right; font-weight:bold;'>Mon - Thurs 11p / 10c</td></tr><tr style='height:14px;' valign='middle'><td style='padding:2px 1px 0px 5px;' colspan='2'<a target='_blank' style='color:#333; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-july-26-2010/lost-in-race'>Lost in Race<a></td></tr><tr style='height:14px; background-color:#353535' valign='middle'><td colspan='2' style='padding:2px 5px 0px 5px; width:360px; overflow:hidden; text-align:right'><a target='_blank' style='color:#96deff; text-decoration:none; font-weight:bold;' href='http://www.thedailyshow.com/'>www.thedailyshow.com</a></td></tr><tr valign='middle'><td style='padding:0px;' colspan='2'><embed style='display:block' src='http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:cms:item:comedycentral.com:341186' width='360' height='301' type='application/x-shockwave-flash' wmode='window' allowFullscreen='true' flashvars='autoPlay=false' allowscriptaccess='always' allownetworking='all' bgcolor='#000000'></embed></td></tr><tr style='height:18px;' valign='middle'><td style='padding:0px;' colspan='2'><table style='margin:0px; text-align:center' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' width='100%' height='100%'><tr valign='middle'><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.thedailyshow.com/full-episodes/'>Daily Show Full Episodes</a></td><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.indecisionforever.com/'>Political Humor</a></td><td style='padding:3px; width:33%;'><a target='_blank' style='font:10px arial; color:#333; text-decoration:none;' href='http://www.thedailyshow.com/videos/tag/Tea+Party'>Tea Party</a></td></tr></table></td></tr></tbody></table>
And as predicted, the second sympathy-engendering thread has been started in the hangout. theme from friends is playing! theme from friends is playing!
You do realize that he is mocking everyone who bought into Breitbart's claim of racism in the NAACP which would include posters who start threads called "Racism in the NAACP" and post Breitbart's video as evidence.
Such a sad little man. I was waiting for the bantam **** to show up and crow. I thought about not starting the thread, but I'm not going to let SF determine my life's choices. I'll let you know how John progresses. Maybe it will help you overcome your arrogance and heartlessness.
Looks like ol' Breitbart's going to get his day in court after all: http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2011/02/14/dismissed-agriculture-worker-sues-conservative-activist/
I'm not. Nor is anybody else who's a non FREEPER. Why don't you grab something from the internet, or maybe a video, copy it, and paste it - so I can not read it or pay attention to it, and not notice it when nobody remembers it anymore.
 Shirley Sherrod Returns To USDA To Work On Civil Rights Shirley Sherrod is back at the United States Department of Agriculture, almost a year after she was forced out by a misleading video spread by conservatives falsely accusing her of discriminating against white farmers. Sherrod will not take her old position, reports Politico, instead rejoining the agency to work on civil rights. In her new job, she'll lead a program designed to improve relations with minority farmers. In a video circulated by Andrew Breitbart last year, Sherrod was shown discussing how she was reluctant to offer help to white farmers and was subsequently fired. But the firing turned into a fiasco for the agency when it was revealed that the video misportrayed her speech, which actually told of how she learned not to discriminate and, in fact, had since befriended the farmers in question. She is currently suing Breitbart over the incident.
This is incorrect. The video in the Breitbart post shows the portion where she learned not to discriminate and Breitbart himself notes this in his article. http://biggovernment.com/abreitbart/2010/07/19/video-proof-the-naacp-awards-racism2010/ The point of the article/video was to show how the NAACP audience reacted positively when Sherrod describes her initial discrimination of the white farmer. This was in response to NAACP President Ben Jealous accusing the Tea Party of racism with zero evidence. It was not an attack on Sherrod. The Obama administration are the ones who reacted to the video incorrectly by firing Sherrod.
Honestly, from what font is this masochism springing? Female troubles? Lose your job? Elaborate - it will be far more interesting than this boring charade.
So your claim is that Breitbart released the video in order to praise Sherrod? What a silly thing to say.
That's not what he said at all. He said it was in response to claims to Tea Party is racist. The point is to show that the NAACP talks out of both sides of its mouth. The crowd "reacted positively" when Sherrod pointed out she did not want to initially help the man and was conflicted. That reaction tends to discredit the NAACP a bit when held up to a post-racial standard.
Why would Breitbart put out a video showing that Sherrod had a change of heart and that she believes race shouldn't be held against people applying for govt. aid? (That is what commodore was saying) That would show Sherrod in a positive light. As far as the positive reaction of the audience that is hardly evident at all. There may have been some few sounds of approbation. There were far more noises that sounded like people were familiar with the feeling and recognized it than cheering it. If he's putting out video showing Sherrod with a change of heart to not holding race against applicants, that can only be a positive for her. I doubt Breitbart was attempting to portray Sherrod poistively.
