    Missed this earlier.

    Repatriate black people to where?

    Also US foreign aid represents less than 1% of the budget in 2019 it was about $39 Billion.

    That is definitely a problem.

    Regarding 'Ghetto dysfunction" that is also due to the perceptions of certain neighborhoods being bad investments and thus getting less capital. Further one of the downsides of integration is that successful residents have moved out of predominately black neighborhoods taking capital with them.

    Well if we see the same patterns in Japan and other countries as we see in this one, it might help to look at similarities and see if any ways they deal with it helps or anything causes further harm. It might also helps us to understand the root of the problems by looking at the similarities.

    Also in every neighborhood some make it and some don't. That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that their is talk about trying to solve many different problems not just racism.

    @FranchiseBlade

    Ill just stick to comparing blacks and Hispanics which are a lot more related than blacks and Japanese Koreans

    Thank you
    Thank you
    Thank you

    I have to thank you. In responding to your post i inadvertently stumbled on an article that backs me up on what im saying about looking at internal issues

    Black home ownership actually increased more from 1950 yo 1970 than 1970 till now. We are stuck on racism hence we are stuck period.

    Edit: this article focuses on red lining but that doesn't prevent black home ownership. It prevents blacks from living in white and secondly its not a current issue

    Except as I pointed out that comparison would change depending on which groups you are comparting.

    Comparing black immigrants and their families to black African-Americans born here are different. Also comparing Mexican-Americans born here to other Hispanic immigrants are different as well. Yet, Mexican-Americans born here and African-Americans born here have more in common.

    As i pointed out not all Hispanics are immigrants. Secondly Hispanic immigration is a whole other topic from overseas immigration

    You do know redlining severely crippled the amount of equity that black families had to pass down to their next generation compared to white families as the modern white middle class was created right after WW2 during the suburban housing boom where they were handing out mortgages to white families like candy. That allowed them to gain equity and let their home values grow over the and passing that property to their children.

    Since home values have been rising for many decades now, the people who got to be homeowners earlier such as blue collar white families right after WW2 got to get their mortgage at the cheap and let their property values grow. In the mean time renters over the would find it more difficult to buy a home because housing values are much higher than they were right after WW2.

    Pn the article i posted, it says blacks made a lot of gains in 50's. Everyone in America made post WWII gains. We are the only group stuck since the seventies

    Why couldn't our neighborhoods and home values improve?

    Correct. But the truth is that voluntary immigrants from Latin America, Europe, Asia, Africa, or anywhere else and their families all have more success than Mexican-Americans born here, Native Americans/Inuit's, Native Hawaiians, and African Americans.

    It depends on what markers you use to measure improvement.

    @fchowd0311

    My previous post represents a larger topic when it comes to liberalism and race. We have a defeatist attitude about blacks improving. No way a black neighborhood can improve we have to be saved by whitey

    No we are not but its because of cyclical poverty. Middle class blacks aren't falling behind. Poor blacks aren't moving forward

    There is no profit on spending on domestic communities. “Control” of a foreign port can create enormous profits. Guess that’s why countries across the world does not want to spend on local needs

    It can also help influence a more (or less) democratic group in power, as well as favorable opinions and less chance of terrorist groups targeting us.
