Your memory is fuzzy. She isn't black (although in elem school when she moved to whiteytown, USA a dumb little girl asked her what it was like to be black). But, no, it is not hard to look down on her darkie self.
You guys realize that if you remove tipping it will be a LOT more expensive to eat out, right? Restaraunts will charge a lot more money for food and drinks to cover their new payroll costs. Tipping is kind of voluntary pay....I like the system.... DD

that depends on if you're white or black. if you're white, yes because you probably coulda done something more productive, ig you're black, no, because you were probably just gonna sit around since studies show that blacks have a higher unemployment rate and no thats not racism at all. i'm just playing the percentages.
right..it's all about playing the percentages. attributing characteristics to someone of a certain skin color and then treating them differently isn't something we should seek to avoid, in fact, it is awesome. totally sweet, even. irish people drink more than most around the world. thus, i'm a huge drinker! see!! it's all totally true!!! we also are known for getting lots of brawls. and you guys know i'm out there kickin' ass all the time!
the sad thing is this probably affected Irish people in a really negative way back when they first started immigrating here in the 1800's.
oh, it absolutely did!!! ever see some of the pics i posted of signs and political cartoons from that time? they said that the Irish and the "Negroes" were related. that they were both inferior. there developed a huge rivalry between the Irish and the freed slaves, because they were both competing for the same jobs. there were Help Wanted signs that read, "IRISH NEED NOT APPLY!" they were characterized as monkeys in political cartoons. every negative behavior you could ascribe to a person was ascribed to them.
I was a waiter for a couple of years at dennys, which is one of the hardest places to work for big tips, and I can tell you that I made more working for tips than I ever would have working by the hour. I don't think any waiter wants to give up tips. As far as the Miss Cleo insult, I figured as much from you. Offer a praise then take it back with an insult. Good job Cipher.

I think the root of the matter is... in America... everything seems black or white...Democrate or Republican.... Christian or Muslium... there is no middle ground...
Dude, you have been stiffed over and over by black people. Maybe it's you. I don't remember every being stiffed by anybody, really. I do remember this time when a bunch of young black kids came into dennys late at night and there was about 20 of them. I was being stupid at the time and trying to control them so that they wouldn't get out of hand. I told them that they could only have 2 drinks and when a guy complained about his hamburger the cook told me to tell them that he wasn't going to make this food again. All of those guys stood up and were about to fight me. It was a mess. Even when we tried to separate the bill for them it took time to do that and they were angry and had a right to be. Two days later, I got a strange letter. It was from that group of guys. They had put a 20.00 tip in the letter and said I earned it. Then they told me that all of "us" are not like this. I don't really think I earned anything and they really should have gotten their whole bill compensated. But go figure.
No it just wasn't me. It is proven and well known in the business. Go through this thread and read the articles I have posted. Quit trying to pretend that it doesn't exist. Denial is the worse thing we could do.
When is the last time you waited tables Max? Have you depended on tip money to pay bills? Did you ever answer my other question. You can start with the moralizing after you have waited on many tables for nothing.
it's not merely about waiting tables, meowgi. it's about pre-judging individuals based on their skin color. keep on keeping on.
