I don't think we can say with certainty that Landry will block the trade (assuming he has a clause)...sometimes playing for your home crowd means a lot to a player..

Landry does us no good if he blows out his knee again.

I don't think Landry has more upside than Charlie V. but Carl is a hard worker whereas Charlie V is inconsistent and lazy despite having the talent to score.

Yea. His buy out clause is the only thing stopping us from acquiring him.

don't expect any kind of solid update on a weekend...if this rumor is legit, its obviously not a done deal yet, so if the Rockets-Bucks are on the phone then only a limited amount of people will know, there's really no rush over the next two days since the league has to approve it and its offices won't open until Monday.

I heard the Rockets had a good chance at Chris Paul until they found out about his buy out clause. :D

as for the rockets thinking of bringing in Dorsey to replace Landry...Its too early for this to mean much, but dorsey had 11 and 8 in his NBDL debut, guess who had 18 and 19? ALTON FORD....he's on the houston affiliate squad also...he doesn't have the hops like landry or dorsey, but a very similar player/body, anyone think he'd get called up?

This isn't a "alton ford is a monster because he had 18 and 19 in the NBDL, we better call him up quick so he can save us" post...i'm just assuming Alton has improved since his last stint with Houston and perhaps he's good enough to get an opportunity now, but I realize he's limited.

honest question because I can't think of the answer but...when was the last time a heavily talked about rumor actually became reality under morey? does anyone know? to me it has always seemed that the rumor gets circulated which means morey is working on something and then he pulls something crazy and awesome out of his wizard hat.

    am I off here?

The Rockets gave him a hard time signing him twice. I don't think he would mind leaving here at all.

I'm with you 100%. I don't think this exact deal will go down but there will be some kind of trade that everybody will like when it happens.

I agree with that. Morey hasn't let us down on a single transaction yet.

isnt VIllenueva a bone headed guy, while Landry is a standing guy? Charlie seems to me like a guy with alot of talent who is not much of a team player sort of like Mclazy

After trading away SF, I was almost positive that there was going to be another trade. So, I'm guessing that if Deke doesn't come back, then this deal will be final. I like Landry just like the next guy, but he has lost the explosiveness he had last year. Last year he was hungry and ready to show what he had. Now that she showed it, he has just been playing like yeah who cares.....Getting another 7FT center in Mihm is good especially if we have deke back. C.V. is a good player. He was at his best in Toronto when they gave him minutes. His highlight reels are amazing. Landry will be good in time, but for now, I think he should be traded.

    Agreed.

I could definitely see them shopping Landry. It would make sense to cash in while his value is high if they are still concerned about the knee. If there really is indication that the knee is holding on by a thread, retaining him at a fair cost and dealing him now really epitomizes shrewd managing.

This particular story seems like BS, but I could see them perhaps wanting CV for his offense. But let's not kid ourselves about his height somehow improving our team defense. lol.

Not when Yaos playing 34 mins a game.
Milsap is a good player, he pads his stats when Boozers out, big deal. Keep in mind Okur shoots 3s instead of posting up, which means Milsap is the only post option on the offensive end.

Lets take a look at the rockets.
Yao is undisputably the first option down low, Ron can post up quite a bit, even Tracys been posting up shorter defenders for his turnaround jumper. Now if you add another post option(thou Landry's shot creating ability is still questionable) in Landry, we probably gonna need 3 basketballs to be enough to go around the court.

Im all for this deal. Scola and Landry are same kinda player, they hustle, play reasonably good D from time to time. Can score efficiently down low and has limited ability creating their own shot(in this department Scola is better than Landry) If we could get CV, his shooting and driving ability helps stretch the floor big time, especially when Yaos in. I watched most Bucks game last year(cuz of my countryman Yi), CV finishes nicely around the rim when hes driving, shoots an acceptable fg% and his D has come a long way this year.

    Make it happen Morey.

Yea, Landry played like who cares last night. I don't know where people are getting that Landry has lost his explosiveness. Where is this stuff coming from?
