You know, there's another latina hottie on "Sportscenter" now too. She covers basketball events as well. I want to say her name is Jocelyn (or Krystal?) Fernandez, but I can't be sure of it. She looks like a latin Jillean Barbarie.
Yah Colleen is pretty fine... she has a nice rack but looks cross-eyed... she usually covers stories for ESPN on the West Coast.
That last statement should tell me to ignore an even dumer statement like "she's a terrible journalist," but Rachel Nichols-Alexander was an accomplished and award-winning Washington Post columnist for several years before jumping to ESPN. Do a little research or ask around a bit before spouting things like that.
Writing for a paper and speaking on TV are 2 totally different things. Seems she has talent for print and a look for TV.
Okay Mr. Serious, thanks for your investigative report. I don't subscribe to the Washington Post and I never had the desire to do research as to where this woman began her career. I'm judging her based on her on-camera performance which I find terrible. Don't look so much into a comment either. Maybe I should have said "she should stick to writing reports because she can't speak one word without sounding more scripted with as little personality as any on-camera reporter in the history of television." Take a light-hearted statement for what it's worth just like half of the comments in this thread.
KellyD's a sports journalist as well, he might even know Nichols. Your comment may have been light-hearted to you (I don't know how you can light-heartedly say somebody sucks at their job), but it wasn't to KellyD.
If you want to talk about weather smarts and looks, check out Stephanie Abrams on the Weather Channel.
Well to be fair to both KD and myself, we are freely allowed to have our opinions one way or another posted on an internet forum. I don't have to agree with someone and they don't have to agree with me on certain issues which is the case here. You might have misinterpreted my comment as what exactly I described as being light-hearted. I'll break it down: This part of the post is classified as light-hearted: but I guess I'd still **** her This part was based on her journalistic capacity: her on-camera speaking is horrendous. She's a terrible journalist. And a little extra nonsense: Nowhere in my post did I use such immature words as 'sucks'. Why would I be so sensitive to a word like 'sucks' or on a similar level as 'stupid'? Well I too was on a newspaper staff for 2 years and developed journalistic writing (which is probably why my formal college papers aren't that strong). Granted the publication I worked on was a high school newspaper, but it receive a Gold Medalist rating from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
I've been keeping my eyes open for her since this thread went up and finally caught her on SportsCenter. Rachel Nichols is far from being a "babe" in my book. Maybe by ESPN standards. She's also a horrible reporter.
