The Rockets aren't underdogs vs. the Jazz

one of my favorite aspects of the nba playoffs is that there are no fluke performances, the best teams generally win. that's how it should be. not many lightning in a bottle moments.

and the rockets won't be dogs against utah.

I was thinking the same thing. That the warriors would easily go 42-40. But now that I think about it, Dallas will want to win the game against the warriors. The warriors are the hottest team of the clips, lakers, and warriors. Dallas can knock them out of the playoffs and avoid playing them in the first round.

It seems like, more often than not, you see at least one serious upset in the playoffs. I agree that it's less frequent than in the NFL or MLB.

Man this playoff race is nuts.

Dallas can pretty much pick who they want to play in the first round. Darn

The Clippers are complete trash! There was no excuse for today's loss. Warriors-lovers, your dream is one step closer to coming true.

Lakers: 40-40. Sea, @Sac. 1-1 finishing at 41-41. The Kings will probably play inspired and beat them. But maybe they go 2-0.

Warriors: 40-40. Dal, @Por. 2-0 finishing at 42-40. Pencil them into the playoffs.

Clippers: 39-41. @Pho, NOK. 1-1 finishing at 40-42. It's quite possible they win both games, especially since the Suns have clinched #2 and will be on the 2nd game of a back to back.

My major assumption is the Warriors will win out.

1 If the Lakers split their games, the Warriors are #7 and the Lakers are #8.

2 If the Lakers win out, they are #7 and the Warriors are #8.

Any scenario that puts the Clippers in is unlikely IMO. They must win out and hope the Warriors lose once or the Lakers lose both, neither of which is likely. After today's game, I wouldn't be surprised if the Clips lost both and finished 39-43. What a joke of a franchise. Last season was just a mirage and didn't really happen.

you guys think the mavs will try a little harder than they need to in order to beat the warriors, hoping that may knock them out of the playoffs so they won't have to play them?

i'm sure they'd rather play the clippers than the warriors

they have more heart than the Lakers, and they have Cuttino and Sam...

I would much rather see the underdogs than the incredibly mediocre Lakers with fans and their sense of entitlement...

as far as a joke of a franchise and last years success, that was no fluke..

signing Cuttino and Sam, locking in EB, building a winning mentality is what its all about... theres a reason why Elgin Baylor was Executive of the Year last season... they fought hard after the loss of Livingston and huddled around .500 ball but couldnt get it done... they will be in the hunt next year, and I predict they will have a better record than the Lakers, just like last year...

strong possibility that the Warriors lose to Dallas for the reason stated above.

The Clippers still have a good shot though.

with the way Warriors are playing right now, they could have a great chance beating Dallas even when they put out full strength squad on the court. I followed every recent Warriors' game and you could see fires inside every single player.

the best Warrior basketball since a long long time ago ;)

Lakers blowing a 19 point lead late in the game... Sonics pull within one...

    Go Seattle!

Looks like the Lakers will pull away with the win :( . Sorry Clippers.

(Although Seattle for a little while there looked like they'll win out.)

So now 15 of 16 teams have qualified for the playoffs. It's a question of the Warriors or the Clippers, with the Warriors holding a huge advantage. Based on today's big laid egg, I doubt the Clips will win their next two.

the Clippers are probably done, I agree, but there is no way the Warriors have a chance in the first round...

the regular season matchup means nothing... in fact it wouldnt have mattered- Warriors, Clippers, take your pick...

    Mavs in 5

Wow, we could see a DAL/GSW matchup and a PHX/LAL matchup.

Man, can't wait for the playoffs to start!

I was really hoping the Clippers would make it.
