Not to nitpick but in my mind this hasn’t been accomplished yet. I want the most wins, for historical significance, not merely a tiebreak.
Historically, it will mean a lot more if we bring home the prize. Otherwise, it wont be much more than a footnote.
It is guaranteed that no other team will have a better record than the Astros at the end of the season.
Of course the WS is the ultimate goal, but that doesn't mean you can't stop and smell the roses along the way. I made this mistake in 2017 (as a fan). I was so worried about losing the WS that I forgot to enjoy all the winning along the way. Not gonna do that again this year.
Never forget, the Astros are a bunch of players that got paid and are content and at some point Verlander was fat and happy. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php...players-that-got-paid-and-are-content.297527/
Obviously correct. As recently as 2 days ago I was told that Hinch and the players were complacent and playing with no sense of urgency. It's been a season-long problem.
No I’m totally enjoying the ride. All I meant by that was if we lost today and the dodgers won we’d have the same record. We’d have tie breaker for HFA but that’s not the same as “best record in baseball” is all I was saying. We’ve never done that, until today.
As I was looking through the playoff predictions all over the net, I saw one that caught my eye more than the others: Astros vs Cardinals While not likely, it is possible. Wouldn't something like this put all those NL nostalgic fans on the edge of their seats? Maybe not just them? I think it would be fun! It being the Yankees or Dodgers every year gets tiring. Yup. All new dynamic here with computer scandals, Jeff's backround, and all that 90's NL frustration. I'll take it! (Too bad it wont happen )
Wow, that would DEFINITELY give us a chance to exorcise some demons from the 90's! Specifically Game 3 of the 99 Divisional round and that punk Walt Weiss......
