Heck no to Mike Brown and Mike Woodson.

I think LeBron ran the Cavs on offense and defense.

Mike Woodson? The Hawks run 90% iso ball.

Adelman is a fine coach, not up there with Phil Jackson but he's right under him with Jerry Sloan.

Adelman is one of the top 5 coaches in the NBA. The problem is the players we have are too soft and one dimensional.

    Chuck Hayes: Player Coach.

Are teams still allowed to do that?

hell yeah. if i had to choose a coach to replace RA, it would be someone who is young (can stick around for a long time) and can develop young players as well as coach a balanced game (offense, defense, motivation).

the two that really stick out are mcmillan and scott brooks. but those teams would be crazy to let them go. if nate chooses to leave, it will be for a contender, not a project.

Nobody trusts politician Battier. Chuck Hayes didn't come from evil elite university and carries himself with more dignity. He don't read no scouting report like Dookie and watches tape. Player like that. Moving pictures. No words.

Chuck Hayes is younger than both McMillan and Brooks.

If Adelman is let go and not extended after this season, and we officially go into "rebuild" mode... then why not get some former Championship Rockets in here? Mario Elie's been trying to get a head coaching job and Sam Cassell is also an assistant head coach (cant rmr where).

Why not rebuild with our 94-95 championship crew and maybe get some excitement back here..

I am going to step outside the box here. *steps outside the box

John Calipari. He didn't do so well in New Jersey, but since then the guy has been able to recruit top players who have turned into NBA All-Star caliber players and other high draft choices (ie, DeJuan Wagner, Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans, John Wall, etc). This year it looks like he has again recruited a #1 overall pick: Terrence Jones.

If things were to ever go horribly wrong with the Rockets, this guy would be near the top of the list.

You're missing the guy already with tons of head coaching experience.

    This is good info, repped!

Chuck Hayes as a player coach would certainly be different...

Sam Cassell is in WASH to groom John Wall. Elie is interesting.

I'd hire Sam Cassell just to watch him in post-game press conferences.

    how can you watch?

back to the OT, if i could choose any coach, it would be thibs. he coaches like JVG but with some more offensive flexibility, which would be perfect for our team. the bulls are still a great defensive team without noah, telling us that you don't really need great interior defenders to be a good defensive team. we need to learn from that. thibs would make our team 5x better than what we are now defensively.

but a coach not under contract? none right now. only JVG comes to mind. possibly mike fratello?

Hahah.. yeah, i think players would spend more time laughing at what he has to say rather than listening.

"Guys... we have to play better... they made it look easy against us last night...LIKE CLUBBING BABY SEALS!"

It's actually quite funny and ironic you say this. You do know that the Chicago offense is actually WORSE than the better years of JVG's offense here in Houston, right? The reason why they have a better record is because they have a better defense. It is the best in the entire NBA, and quite frankly, a level that would make even JVG flabbergasted.

So it's actually just the opposite of what you said. Thibadeux's team is playing better than our old JVG teams because they're doing better on defense.
