Ban him from playing the second half! Anyone still thrilled about big three? While TMac decided to rest at a relatively weak schedule, Ron was forced to take one game off, Yao took the game off while playing. In a Chinese interview Yao mentioned that he is not going all out, because he doesn't want to collapse after 50 or so games. I did not see any efforts from him tonight, when his performance/efforts must be there for the team to win. Why didn't RA simply put him on the bench for the second half? I am wondering now what he is going to say in postgame interview. To me his no show was the No.1 reason for this one. So please do not say anything about the team's lack of energy or inadequate mentality against lesser teams. In a game you have a no show, pointing fingers even towards the whole team is very embarrassing. At some point, RA has to send Yao a message. A superstar needs to step up in a game like tonight's. If you won't give all out, then you sit, simple like that. Steve must be way behind otherwise he should have a few minutes in this game. At least the guy has some fire in him.
Do you have a link for that quote by Yao saying he's not trying 100%? AND even if he isn't trying: I don't care. I've said the same for Tracy and it holds true for Yao. Do whatever the hell you need to do to make the playoffs and to stay healthy through the season and for the playoffs. We've all realized as fans we don't have 2 superstars who can play 82 games a year and we shouldn't expect it. So it doesn't matter if they don't go all out all season. Thats' something we're going to have to accept as fans. Just be healthy and ready to go for the playoffs and there's no gripes about it here.
Then how about seeds, home court advantage? Will you be satisfied if the Rox has to play the Lakers in the first round playoff? Plus, loss to a team like Memphis is mentally devastating. Losers are cultivated by accepting lose like this one.
Funny. Why not send a message to Rafer, Head and No.0, asking why they could never passed the ball over the opponent to Yao when he got fronted? And also a message to Dick Adelman, asking him to resign maybe?
Someone suggested that you should have 500 posts before you could start a thread. I makes so much sense right now.
If RA benched Yao last game vs Golden State, we could lose it. you never know. RA has to assume that Yao should play at the level that he was paid and RA has to play Yao because if not, Yao and Yao fans will say something nasty win or lose.
Play a weaker opponent at the beginning of the playoffs builds momentum, for a later, stronger opponent. On the other hand, a very opponent like the Lakers would be exhausting. It increases the chance of falling at later rounds. If you truly believe that the rockets is so powerful, energized, and deep, then the opponent really doesn't matter. Unfortunately they are not.
why is it so hard to f0cking understand that yaos not a leader...hes a dam scoring leader but not a leader why? How the f0ck are you gonna be a leader if you dont even control the ball? dont leader give follower the ball? so those ball handler need step up and be a leader so yao can be a scoring leader
Really? I'm sorry if I accept the fact T-Mac and Yao aren't 82 game per season players. There's no way we're ending up 8th. But even if we have a tough first round matchup, it's better than a creampuff matchup missing T-Mac and/or Yao... The sooner you realize they have to take it easy at some point to make it to the playoffs healthy, the better it is for your personal health.
idk why you question yao's effort. dude always tries. but he WILL have games like this once or twice every 10 games or so. haven't you been watching? this is one of his weaknesses. get over it.
to me, yao's 2 biggest weakness are: #1, obviously he lacks athleticism. so whenever we play a team with a very athletic front court (especially those with multiple 6'10 or 7' type of bigs), yao will often struggle. sometimes as a result, the whole team struggles. #2, he tends to think too much, during games. not a good combination. and he knows this. it's just bad habits really die hard. don't know about how to overcome #1 for yao, but #2 is certainly manageable.
