Yeah, its Wade and Duncan's move

Martin drives into you or pumps, he doesn't arm swing that much.

They were already supposed to stop calling fouls when the offensive guy jumps into the defender, but they couldnt stop Martin.

This change should have been done a long time ago, at most it was a touch foul when the player was still on the floor and the contact was initiated by the player. Should never have been continuation for a shooting foul if the player never left the ground before contact.

I wonder how the refs will interpret this "rip move" for Martin because his shot motion starts low and kind of does a little swing motion to start. I think he'll still get this call but not as much.

Durant's favorite move and it's quiet obvious. I've seen Melo and Kobe done it but to a less extent. With Martin though, the refs need to look into it closely when making or not making calls for him. His shooting form dictates that swinging motion all the time where the others mentioned do it to get calls and its not the actual way they shoot. Martin also tends to pull back his arm and swing it to the side instead of swinging it forward and straight up like them other players. It's like he semi avoids the contact but his defender tries to guard him so tight that they end up fouling. I don't think this would be a huge issue with Martin's game. If he wasn't such a great shooter, we wouldn't be addressing these concerns in the first place.

If they still give Durant them calls, they better sure be giving Martin the same. I'd expect the organization to file a complaint if that's not happening.

It's fair play or they can take these new set of rules and shove it.

If this rule was implemented when Yao was at his peak, then T-Mac might not have been been a 2nd round virgin.

Martin will still get floor fouls but now this means Martin won't be sacrificing open layups to try and get the foul+shots.

I don't see them being too exact on this rule.

Lot of change just for change sake.

it still counts as a foul, it will still help the team get in the penalty.

He learned how to get those fouls by studying the rules. He will have some new tricks up his sleeves this year... Rocket or not ;).

Good. I'm sick of Martin looking for contact and trying to force the foul. Needs to focus on finishing the play.

His game will be minimally effected by this. The guy is a smart player and will adjust to the rules if need be.
