I too have been to Jersey Mikes, and, regarding Buck's comments, in the words of Smokey Robinson, "I second that emotion". Jersey Mikes rocks. I've had their Italian sub and their cheesesteak, and both are pretty durned awesome.
T-cloud is ok, but they kinda skimp out on a few things. Their Cali Club is pretty good. Ive been to Delaware a few times and really like their Philly, but they dont have very many convenient locations. Ive been to Zero's in Greenspoint and thought it was ok. The bread was a little too sweet for my tastes...... Basically its wannabe Schlotsky's.
In a world dominated by Subway, I slipped into a Blimpie's recently and was very surprised. Wish they were around more.
Panera is the shiznit! Manager at a new one on 1960 said that they are openign 35 in the Hosuton area. If you haven't tried it yet check it out. Best sandwiches I have ever had.
Thundercloud is solid. They used to give buy-one-get-one free vouchers out in those coupon books at the Co-op and Texas Textbooks. Needless to say, I never went there alone. Delaware Subs is pretty close to my office. It's grotesquely overpriced though. For that price, I'd rather sit down and eat somewhere. I second Turbo's motion that Jimmy John's is the best sub in town. Hot, fresh, and the best bread. Not to mention all the sprouts they put in a gargantuan.
I rather much make a sandwhich from my home (fresh). Subway takes out cold meat and just microwaves it. I rather not have it like that but cook it on my own.
