These subs are good at Quizno's - some better than others, but all pretty tasty. HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN & SWISS WITH BACON Tender all-white-meat chicken strips, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Honey Mustard Dressing and spices. Served on Quizno's Italian Ciabatta Bread. MESQUITE CHICKEN WITH BACON Tender all-white chicken strips with a smoky mesquite flavor topped with bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato, red onion, cool Ranch Dressing and spices. TURKEY RANCH & SWISS Sliced turkey breast, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cool Ranch Dressing and spices. HONEY BACON CLUB Honey-cured ham, sliced turkey breast, hearty bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Honey-French Dressing and spices. TURKEY BACON GUACAMOLE Sliced turkey breast, hearty bacon, guacamole, mozzarella cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, cool Ranch Dressing and spices. TURKEY GUACAMOLE Sliced turkey breast, guacamole, lettuce, tomato, red onion and Quizno's Fat-Free Red Wine Vinaigrette Dressing and spices. SIERRA SMOKED TURKEY on Quizno's Italian Ciabatta Bread Sliced smoked turkey breast, lettuce, tomato, red onion, Raspberry Chipotle Sauce and spices. Small Sub: Total Fat 6g / Total Weight 230g HONEY BOURBON CHICKEN Tender all-white meat chicken strips, lettuce, tomato, red onion, zesty grille sauce, honey bourbon mustard sauce and spices, and self-service toppings from the Quizno's pepper bar, all served on wheat bread. Small Sub: Total Fat 6g / Total Weight 267.4g Most of their other subs don't sound that great, so I've never had them, and judging by some of the posts in this thread, I'm glad. Anyway, for those that have tried and disliked Quizno's, but not with one of the above, and are willing ot give it one last shot, I'd go with one of the listed items. Personally, I really like the Barnaby's club sandwhich with fries and great honey mustard dipping sauce, but of course that isn't fast food.
If we're talking about a good sandwich in Houston, I'll take a sandwich from Kahn's Deli. That place is ridiculously good. Too bad eating there more than once a month would probably give you a heart attack.
Drewdog, I agree. I usually like their sandwhiches. the ones with the saladdressing are good. BUT. I also fell victim to the "BLACK ANGUS STEAK SANDWICH ON ROSEMARY PARMESAN BREAD" too, and....man was it sick. I really did not like it. I thought it sounded and looked good. The nice big pieces of steak. But when I got it. I was disgusted. And was upset on how i just wasted my 5 bucks.
Exactly, the italian sandwhich is good. With the saladdressing. But this one with the Angus beef. It was horrible. Just horrible.
Quizno's is good! I've only had the Black Angus Steak, and the Chicken Cabanera, but both were great!
Subway cracks me up. They've got a scam going. Let's see... you're charging me what for 2 pieces of bread, some lettuce, tomatos, etc.? Now why in the heck can't you make what they make at home? It's not like you have to cook most of their menu anyway. Oh pardon me, they've introduced foofoo bread and some thousand island sauce to make it competitive with the other 2 below. Quizno's ... I'm paying what for a sammich? Haha. Schlotshoweveryouspellit... not bad, tastes good, but man, it's still a sammich you can probably make in a few minutes at home.
Agreed, but Schlotzsky's bread can't be duplicated, unless you eat some lard out of the can. You can make any fast food at home. I just made some rokkin fried catfish and fries for me and the wife that cost me 5 bucks. And we have leftovers for tommorrow. Pizza is tough to make cheap and good at home though.
I like the two items I have had at Quizno's: Chicken Carbonara and the basic Itlaian sandwich. True, they are overpriced, but they make better sandwiches than Subway.
Have any of you guys ever had Firehouse Subs? There is one here where I go to college and I had one of their sandwiches the other day for the 1st time...it was GREAT!
I worked at a Quizno's, the one infront of the Toy's R' Us by the Woodlands Mall, and I have to say, the people there are kinda a-holes (no offense of course...) This one guy, who I might add was getting on my nerves the whole 6 hours I spent there before quiting, used the water to clean the utensils for some of the soup that he gave to people. Supposedly Quizno's are going to move to a "glass" front so you can see what they are doing. Hopefully it will help stop things like this from happening too often.
A Jason's Deli just opened in nearby Birmingham (Ala.). I have to admit it was pretty...uummm....bad. I liked it in Houston, but it just wasn't really good. I had the corned beef or pastrami. I forget. At least there was the free ice cream!!! Which reminds me, a Marble Slab (another Houston-based business) also opened across the street from Jason's. I was very elated, and really enjoyed it. Then a Cold Stone Creamery opened in my town (and I applied for a job there). It is sooooo good and 10x better than Marble Slab.`
With all of the current and former Austinites posting, I am suprised no one has mentioned Thundercloud Subs or Delaware Subs.
Jason's Deli is overpriced bull shiznit. I like Quizno's, but they really are overpriced, especially for a college student. I do think they make good subs though. Did anybody try that sub that came out during thanksgiving. It was turkey with a special cranberry sauce, mmmm, mmmmm.
Jimmy Johns MLK & Rio Grande Austin, TX Just say "I wanna Gargantuan" - you will be pleased. Also, as mentioned, Zero's in Houston is like Schlotzkey's on steroids. ThunderCloud makes a good sub too. -Turbo
HELL yes! Kahn's and Kenny & Ziggy's are the two best deli sandwiches in town. I ate at Nielsen's for the first time in about 15 years last week. Never again. I paid too much for a sandwich I can make better myself.
I prefer Jason's over them... The few times I've been to Murphy's, I've spent like 6 bucks, and only felt half full.
If anybody's in the Rice Village area, definitely try Jersey Mike's, it's on Kirby @ Tangley (I think). Great subs. Jake's Philly Steaks has some pretty good cold subs, in addition to the best cheesesteaks in Houston.
