Glad to see you conceded the first points. How is confirming Sotomayor a huge success? The Taliban leader killing had little to do with Obama and a lot to do with our proud military, and the Clinton rescue was all Bill, with not even as much as a comment from Obama. I still would like to know what the heck Obama has accomplished, because I see very little.
Hmm... Making people SPEND money is a bad thing... hmmm... Buddy, the homeowners parallel you're grasping for is a horrible one at that, but yes, Obama = Fail.
This just takes the cake. Obama authorized and extended the missile strikes despite their controversial nature, pressured the Pakistanis to step up their game, got concessions from them, stuff that is leading to solid action like the above AND still he somehow managed to warm up to India. What do you want him to do, personally go in and murder Osama? Would that qualify as an accomplishment? Using your extension of logic, I refuse to waste my time on the other points, since "it has little to do with Obama and a lot to do with the f***tards who ruined our economy" and etc.
u would know a PR stunt if u saw onecan we say "W's Mission Accomplished" speech some >1,000 days ago thanks for the coorborating words that underscores he success of the program; but i don't need the help
all this program does is advance future new vehicle sales. it's an incentive to get consumers to trade in their perfectly fine vehicles sooner than they normally would, thus putting people in more debt. good for lenders, bad for people. this program is increasing the cost of old cars by decreasing the supply of old cars that dealerships would normally have. Therefore, the people who need the most financial help are being hurt the most. if you understand the stipulations of c4c, the enviornmental benefits are marginal at best, If it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside to think a bunch of guzzlers are being traded in for green efficent vehicles.....then be a sheep. It's not the case. trade in your 18mpg vehicle (and watch the dealer destroy a perfectly fine vehicle) for a 22mpg car at $3,500 cost of the taxpayer dollars. Genius.
Which helps ailing auto manufacturers which will hire more employees, as well as contract folks to make fuel efficiency more efficient, which will result in more employment which will result in more spending, and thus the cycle continues and the stimulus program works as hoped for. The auto industry is hurting now, and could use the acceleration of future sales.
just like employee pricing and 0% financing. Do you honestly think its a good idea for an used car to have the same value as a new car? It's not. a lot of jobs are going to be compromised because of this program, so spare me your "new jobs" rant. I still have family in Ohio/Michigan unemployed. Thanks a lot Obama/UAW. for nothing. let me know when you actually know a thing or 2 about this industry....then we'll talk.
I am all for debate, and the Obama stooges are sheep... but this is getting stupid. Give credit where credit is due.......
do u even understand what old clunker means. based on what you posted, it is clear that u have no idea what ur talking about.
You do not know what you are talking about. I fail to see how your unemployed relatives in Ohio/Michigan are the fault of Obama. The fault is a system where excess benefits were given out, and now is time to pay the piper for the the american auto makers. Making inferior cars plays a part as well. The UAW actually were too good for their employees and now current workers are paying the price.
I don't know why i came back to post. I'm so sick of these threads and the threadware tired arguments.. There's no rational discussion going on here....i mean, the arguments being made in this thread by both sides is laughable. The guy hasn't accomplished anything yet.....of course he hasn't! its been 6 freakin months! Letting Clinton go to north korea to get those two girls back was a humanitarian thing to do - i can not believe anyone would have been opposed to that. It makes us look bad? What? Who cares. I don't, i'm glad those two were returned, and Obama should seperate himself, because if he doesn't it will be connected to the nuclear issue. That's the whole poitn of being quiet and sending bill. That's smart, and he should be given credit for being smart diplomatically.
We will see.... Here is a great idea, how about someone push for and get a BALANCED budget passed.... and before all these Republican trolls rip into Obama, remember that the last 2 times there was a balanced budget, the Presidents were not Republicans. Unfortunately the Republicans threw out financial sanity when they decided to play war around the world. As for the Democrates, keep pushing programs that produce a permanent underclass of people that live off the dole. As they say; the path to hell is paved with good intentions. Get rid of the earned income tax credit (a Ray-gun program) and make people collecting government benefits dig ditches, build roads and answer phones unless they are severly disabled... this is not supposed to be a country where people get fat on McDonalds and collect government checks because they are depressed.
exactly as I thought. you're a sheep. tell you what, either google the stipulations of c4c or go down to your closest dealership and look at what Obama signed off as a "clunker". I see these vehicles everyday......the last thing the majority of these vehicles are.....is a clunker.
This forum has long since gone to hell when it comes to rational discussion, it's more or less a piss fest most days. Even when the rational conservatives respond, they're usually overwhelmed by either liberals or right-wing trolls baiting people with extreme posts. which is cool cause I can unravel randomly selected funny pictures. and probably uncool if you're looking for your intellectual stimulation in the Clutchfans D&D. tough luck I guess.
i bet u can't name them. a better queston for you Nook, where was the last time that an Administration inherited a sizeabe budget and left office w a HUGE surplus. ps. the Earned Income Tax Credit has been the most effective social program over the past 25 years.
Actually my father and both uncles were UAW members, and they will freely admit the UAW keep them from making $8 an hour...
Clinton and LBJ both are had balanced budgets (although some say it would of been Kennedy). As far as the earned income tax credit: I disagree that it has been a success, I know that there are people that feel that way; but the way it is tiered, it actually motivates people to work less when they reach a certain income because at one point a single dollar increase in pay, is a HUGE decrease in the earned income tax credit. People are sophisticated, I see it all the time at work... people staying off work for weeks at a time when they hit the cap.
