Nerd... j/k I did that for to get fit, but I enjoy drinking too much...In fact, when I worked out a lot in ABQ I drank normal and it didn't affect my fitness at all...I like to think it helped me lose weight... Well, my guess is you'd work out a lot, hit a club now and then, but you'll smell like smoke and it'll make you not want to go... buy a dog and masturbate while driving, but not necessarily in that order...
I'm just trying to move on. I might open up another thread in the future as to what led up to this and how I reached my breaking point. I guess I'll wait for Griffin to dumb his way out of the news. In the meantime, feel free to throw in something. If not, you've always got EG to talk about.
Hey guys, did you hear that Griffin got busted drunk, driving, and stroking? lol Just start doing stuff that looks interesting. Read books, cook, go fishing, play a sport, video games, work out, etc.... Pick a hobby that you want to do and become really good at it. If you need something to balance out drinking watch out for gambling. I know a few friends who had a drinking problem, so now they quit and picked up a gambing habit that's two times worse.
Congrats! No drinking for me past two years. I find alot more time to do things I've always wanted to do. I realized that drinking was compounding my life's problems and I never was truly dealing with them. Plus its a lot cheaper not having to pay 7 bucks a drink at the clubs or ball game. While I was at it, I stopped drinking caffeine as well.
That's inspirational. Did something negative make you want to quit, or did you get tired of it? 1 thing didn't cause it. It was many years of small things. They just added up.
Personally, I stopped drinking during the week, but when I go out on the weekends, I have to get drinks. The problem I face is that once I start, I can't stop. It really perplexes me. BTW, has anyone else noticed how insane cocaine has become in the last few years? I can't seem to go anywhere these days without some girl asking where they can get some.
Yes. It is out of control in Houston, especially with girls. Once they have a few drinks, they immediately start looking for it.
the saying "be discrete in your indiscretions" apparently flew out the window with these youngsters who seem to do it for the sole purpose of bragging about it. but yeah, blow is pretty much all over the place nowadays.
Go see bands play, movies, video games etc. You can still go to bars as a designated driver. Try and pay some of the friends for the times they drove you when you weren't able. Sometimes though being in a bar is just too much temptaion. If that's the case then don't bother. Learn to cook, have dinner parties, play poker.
It was more of seeing my buddies and other people turn into jackasses after they had a few drinks. It made me think, maybe I was acting this way too. Didn't want to continue in that path.
