The Texans have been ROBBED! They got 3 #1's, a #3 and a #4 for a top 5 QB after getting David Johnson and a #2 for a top 3 WR.
And not just those trades but we got robbed on the Anthony Miller trade by giving up a 5th, Benardrick Mckinney for Shaq Lawson and most recently a #6 for Blake Cashman, a guy that's been hurt since he's been in the league! WHAT ARE WE DOING HERE?
The Shaq and McKinney was a wash. The basically got that pick back by trading Lawson to the Jets. A 6th for Cashman is taking a chance on a guy. . The Texans didn't get raped with the Watson trade, they just didn't get what people were thinking. They didn't take in account the NTC or the desperation of the Browns.
One of the few times Chupacabra is correct Nick needs to prevent all that from happening again because it will. It almost did if not for the Flores Scandal.
So the Texans are so putrid that the expectation is that every trade is historically bad and if they exceed that, and it is just a run-of-the-mill trade where the Texans get fleeced in line with other, normal bad trades in NFL history, that goes down as a "huge win" for the Texans? Good to know Texans fans are keeping those expectations high.
My only problem is, I can not recall where the Texans have gotten the better of another team in a trade. And to me that is a problem. After Rick Smith left this organization has been in influx.
People don't appreciate Rick Smith like they should. He was a competent GM who is responsible for every significant player in franchise history except Andre...
Some how, some way I think the situation with Deshaun, the team as a whole, wouldn't be in this current situation if Rick Smith were still here.
Browns receive QB Deshaun Watson Selection choice — Round 6, 2024 Texans receive Selection choice — Round 1, 2022 (No. 13) Selection choice — Round 4, 2022 (No. 107) Selection choice — Round 1, 2023 Selection choice — Round 3, 2023 Selection choice — Round 1, 2024 Selection choice — Round 4, 2024 Not bad. The pick swap is a 6th rounder and the Texans gain the Lions' 4th which is almost a 3rd. Could have been better with the Falcons, but it is what it is...
Would have been nice to have a package that mimicked what SF gave up to land Trey Lance, but then again Trey Lance didnt pull his dick out on 22 women (allegedly). Not a bad trade at all just more Houston fan overreaction and doom and gloom outlooks. It feels liberating to be past all that drama and now its up to Caserios to hit home runs with these picks. The Herschel Walker trade was historic not only for the sheer draft capital, but because Dallas NAILED their draft picks. That has to happen here. Quality vs Quantity.
Rick Smith gave as the problem when he drafted Watson. Caserio got a good deal for a Sexual Predator.
But even with the rumored discount Watson offered the Falcons, for a guaranteed 210 million, the falcons said “No” to Watson. Smart organization, they had gumption to stick to their philosophy. So Watson ultimately pushed for the Browns trade scenario. And the Browns knew it, so they made a weak but final offer, and either the Texans took it, or they had to wait another year of paying Watson before doing any maneuvering.
“Weak Offer”? 3 - 1st, 2-4s, and a 3rd is not a weak return. According to some, Caserio threatened the Browns with tampering charges because they bypassed Caserio when making the contract offer to Watson. That’s why the extra 4th rounder was given and the pick the Texans gave up dropped to a 6th.
Trade rape whether delusional folks want to believe it or not. Ntc by sht BoB screwed us in the end. I recall folks acting like we were punishing Watson by holding him out for a season. A year later and he still made the Texans his btch regardless. Caserio got to hit these picks and avoid getting influenced by the easterbunny.
