    I say Barry.

Ideally I'd like to see Steve contribute as our back up PG, but how he plays is anyone's guess.

Everybody in the organization is evidently very high on Brooks so i'd imagine he's going to minutes right off the bat. The idea of what Brooks could become with his blinding speed and 3-pt accuracy is worth sacrificing size/defensive ability to find out.

I would love to see Francis have a resurgence, though. Hell, i'd kill for that.

I could've sworn this team was was made up for like all point guards a few month ago.

    Mike James
    Luther Head
    Raefer Alston
    Steve Francis
    Aaron Brooks

Aaron Brooks will most likely be the primary backup PG.

Barry will be used against bigger backup PGs.

Steve Francis is a wild card. He could be the starting PG, backup PG, third string or cut.

I agree. His contract is too high to get him without trading either Battier or Alston. I'd much rather keep them for depth. However, there are some other, less expensive PG's that we might be able to pursue.

Brooks/Head/Hayes to Charlotte for Raymond Felton.

    or

Francis/Head/Novak to Indiana for Jamaal Tinsley.

    or

Brooks/Head/Hayes/Memphis 2nd round pick to Portland for Steve Blake.

I don't know if any of these would be realistic, but the 3 for 1 deal would kill 2 birds for the price of 1. It'd upgrade our PG position & trim the roster.

I wish Rafer is the backup PG! That means our pg is upgraded!

I wouldn't mind Blake but his 4.59 M is too much. Felton is nice despite his poor 3 point shooting, but that proposed package is probably not enough to get him. Tinsley is a cancer, who can pass but can't shoot.

if rafer is the backup, then who do we trade to get an upgrade at starter, NOT BATTIER, a lineup of rafer, tmac, battier, artest, and yao against the celtics solves every defensive and offensive problem. and besides, who exactly are we trying to get. hinrich is not a good starting pg, if that was the case the bulls wouldve drafted beasley. why would the rox want hinirch? he shoots 3's slightly better than rafer, drives half as well and cant play D. id trade novak head and maybe hayes (if we sign landry back) to get a true upgrade. i just dont kno who it is everyone is looking at?????

If he was TRULY back, he would not be backing up a less than mediocre Rafer Alston.

My gut tells me that we'll make another move to bring in a backup pg of Bobby Jackson caliber. Hy head tells me that we'll give brooks a shot at it and if he doesn't perform well then we'll make a move by the deadline.

This may be the weakest part of this team right now.

Barry really isn't quick enough to play point against the majority of pgs in the West right now, but he may be able to manage it in short minutes, seeing as Rafer plays 40+ minutes a game.

Brooks hasn't shown us enough yet to even know if he will be a decent NBA player.

Head is not a pg, and has never really shown the ability to manage that role, though he could guard the other teams pg and have Barry or TMac being the primary ball carrier.

SF3 would be great if he can come any where near what he once was, but that doesn't appear likely right now.

I think Barry will most likely be the backup pg.

None of those seem likely. Getting Felton seems the most realistic to me because he hasn't done much as a pro and Charlotte could move on from him. Portland isn't going to take on multiple players for one person. They are very deep and would have to end up cutting players.
