they don't have a salary cap either like the other leagues so I've come to the conclusion that the MLB is stupid
I disagree. Somehow, with an outdated, slow sport with no clock and with non-standardized fields, and with no salary cap (resulting in player salaries out of control) and with banner advertising everywhere (almost on the field), and with outrageous ticket anc concession prices... ... somehow, with all of that, they still seem to build a huge following of people who will pay through the nose to go to the games. Brilliant! -- droxford
hmm a good one I think with the holiday sicknesses striking why , when you have sinus congestion, does one nasal passage or the other become stopped up while the other is sometimes fine? (before and after taking something like sudafed, etc)
And on a similar note, how in the WORLD do I have room for that much snot in my head... where in the world does it all come from!?
How do traffic lights, uhh, know when to change? Like, based on the amount of traffic in different lanes. I know there must be some sort of sensor, but I've never figured it out.
It does have some standard regulations on size - but it decided that some regulations just weren't important. I mean - is a five foot difference in the left field wall really that big a deal? I like it, standardized fields would be boring.
Some are timed, well actually all are timed one way or another, and some have sensors such as weight plates that they use to tell when a car is there and when a car is not (look at the asphalt around some stoplights and you will see big triangle or rectangles cut into the asphalt and that is where the weight plates are loacted. They switch after a certain amount of time and this is what I meant by all are timed one way or another.
Fatty, what in the world does the speed of light and magnetism have to do with how much wood a woodchuck could chuck? And over what period of time are we talking about? A woodchuck would chuck all the wood he could chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood. isoman, the more snot you blow out of your nose, the more room you create for your mucous producing glands to produce mucous. But on the other hand, if you don't blow your nose, you could get a serious sinus infection... Damned if you do, damned if you dont. Either way, you're screwed.
2) Some people say that it's about Warren Beatty. I have also heard that it is about Cat Stevens. No one knows for sure. 3) No
damn that's pricey..... where i'm from, grams go for $40-60 w/ balls (1/8 ounce) anywhere from $100-150. isn't Texas grand!
Do you have a link to this, because I've looked and haven't found anything. On that same note, why not make some NFL fields 101 yards and others 99 yards? Uniformity is the key to fair play in sports. But for some reason MLB doesn't think so. I hate hearing how a pitcher will do better in Seattle b/c its a pitcher's park b/c its so big. How is this fair? A player shouldn't player better in a city b/c a field is differently sized. He should play better because he has improved or his new teammates make him better. It's unfair and it pisses me off.
If I am not mistaken, some soccer fields are proportioned differently as are Cricket pitches. At least I think they are... DD
You'd have far more homers at Coors Field if it was regulation size... Baseball has always had non-regulation fields. Actually there are alot of regulation sizes they have to adhere to - the distance between the pitching mound and the plate, the height of the mound, the distance between bases, etc. It's just the outfield, and the foul territory, that differs. Without the short left porch in Houston, the Monster in Boston, the ivy in Chicago, etc. the game would be less interesting imo. It compares in a way with basketball at the old Boston Garden, with its parque floor and dead spots. The Fleet Center is newer, but less personal. Or compare it to football - you can't tell me that playing in the snow in Green Bay is anything like playing in a domed stadium.
Really? I think it makes it more interesting. Most baseball fans love looking at numbers and statistics and the difference in ballpark sizes and shapes make it much more exciting. Not to mention humidity, elevation, etc... Besides, both teams play on the exact same field during the game so how is it not fair? There is a lil homefield advantage as far as outfielding goes, but I don't think it is that big of a deal.
So what you are saying is that the lower I go in weight, the higher in price I would have to pay? That doesn't seem to make sense. Logically, it seems to me, that wanting to get 5 kilos of cocaine would cost far more than wanting 1 kilo of cocaine (not that I am interested in doing that nor do I have the money to waste). I have a question as well: What really did happen between FrancisFan and Dennis in their infamous fight?
Pretty sure he's talking price per unit, Manny. It's the same as buying a soda at the movies, the small is like $2.50, the large is like $4 for like 2 1/2 times as much soda. You pay more total for the big soda, but more per oz. for the small.
