There was some misinformation in another thread about 3 months ago that said LPBB would auto-renew in June without notice. Complete nonsense.
For me, LPBB is definitely unstable at times, but works well enough most of the time. And here's a trick for all of you cheap-o's, like me. When ever the games don't work that are SUPPOSED to work, I call or email customer service to complain. Then just before the price of LPBB drops, I call in and get a refund due to the games I missed. Then I sign back up after the price drops. Full season for half the price.
NBALPBB has been hit and miss for me. as far as quality, I have never had a problem with the streaming footage, but there have been plenty of scheduling glitches where they would be playing the wrong game and there would be no fix to it. you would click the Rockets game and they would be showing the Raptors. it would take until halftime to get it fixed. customer service is really annoying as you have to do live text chat. billing was always an issue, and the prices keep going up as they add more features. last year they archived every single game from the 7 teams i chose, so that was pretty cool. they also added the dvr feature last year or the season before. i would give broadband 3.5 out of 5 stars
I had NBA LPBB last year and it worked pretty good. The picture was good quality and it archives games so you can watch them again. The only complaint I have about it is that it lags sometimes and it gets annoying. For those of you who have had LPBB before, can you recommend doing anything to stop the lag?
I have LPBB and I am an ohio resident. I get random games blacked out. For some reason Nuggets games ive found to have been blacked out alot. Im pretty sure the location is wherever your internet provider is located. My credit card and billing address is elsewhere in ohio a number of hours away, and it still comes up as Cincinnati. Dont know if that helps or not
False. Didn't happen. I'm as cynical as anyone, but the idea (1) LPBB would auto-renew in late June (2) without any notification and (3) the only way to avoid it was to cancel beforehand was ridiculous. Not even the NBA is so stupid. I can't remember how it was last year, but I think I got an email in late September or early October telling me to go online and make a decision on the upcoming season. Maybe I'm fortunate to have a great internet connection, but I didn't have many problems last season. I remember a few times when the service was down but that wasn't often.
Just DON'T have the subscription through someone in the Los Angeles area. 2 teams x 3 games a'piece = SIX blacked out games right off the top. NBA Broadband is a good service. Some internet service providers are probably crappier than others. But is always worked for me quite well, with good picture quality. NO playoff games on broadband. Thats where they get you.
I have a different question about League Pass. I'm planning on moving in a few months and I'm concerned that I would have to order league pass twice from two different cable providers. Is the LP tied to me or to my cable company account?
I say keep your cable, I already tried NBA league pass broadband and it's not that great nothing beat the cable.
For sure. But he mentioned dumping cable altogether. Still will need cable for the playoff games on TNT and ESPN since it won't be on NBA broadband. I'm one of the 10% of people in the US that doesn't have a paid TV subscription anywhere. Online is a decent option to get around paying too much money, but its not ready for prime time quite yet. Though its closing in. People are trying to get away from cable and satellite and will take convenience over picture quality. Though oddly I'm trying to work back IN. I see the value in the dedicated video broadcast box known as the television still... A la carte program viewing, not sure how much cheaper we'll have when we remove the pesky ad-support, but it is worth the effort in trying.

fyi. if you know anyone with NBA league pass broadband you can log in and watch it from multiple computers. i bought it and gave my friends my account name and we all could use it at the same time. not sure what the limit is to how many people can use it, but you could all split the cost for an account.
Definitely based on IP. I had it on my iPhone (cracked app) so I watched the Rockets games while I was here in Cali now. On wifi it was great quality really and even on 3g after the buffering was done I was getting great quality.
