Thanks. I know I ask a lot of questions but at least they're not about computers anymore. ;)

I live in a county that only has ABC, does that mean I won't get NBC or CBS? If so, I don't think my girlfriend will go for DirecTV because she has to have her ER and other shows.

The site says nothing about a monthly charge for regular receivers but does say a $5.99 per month charge will be assessed for DVR receivers. Can you just order regular receivers online and then hook them up yourself? How difficult is it to hook one up?

The point of getting the local channels is to get the ones that are of concerned to you, so I bet they will get you the local channels' package that is closest to you. Maybe they will give you an option once you choose it online? I don't know, man. I know that in my city there are no locals, but I choose Houston's because that's the closest. If I were you, I'd just choose the locals with the ENTIRE package. Nonetheless, if you don't get a local ABC, you will get one that is national.

In regards to the per month charge, they're not charging you installation, they're charging you for usage of their receivers. I believe that your installation discounts will be up to whoever does it, if it is not a DirecTV person. I got a flier in the mail when I signed up, and the discount was from the local company sending the guy out to install. I didn't have to pay for installation, I know that for sure.

OK, so I will not be WITHOUT the big station like CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. They just won't be local and will be national? Is that right? If I want my local ABC I can just plug up the cable to the TV anyway.

The reason I was asking about the monthly charge was because somebody said the lease fee was a one time charge and now you are saying it's monthly. Oh well, hopefully I will get this worked out.

Yes, its for fraud purposes. My buddy has his account maxed with 5 receivers. He has 2 at his house, 2 at his mother in laws and one at his uncles house.

For what little TV i watch, I wouldn't feel bad about doing it.

OK, I have talked to several people who have DirecTV and it has gotten tremendously negative reviews. If I was to get the NFL Sunday Ticket package and then cancel it after December, what is the cancellation fee?
