That's really odd to, especially when alot of people complain about the Spurs, not showing enough emotions.

i think this is a little over the top, first of all, no one really calls what goes on in the black church fraud, even though some may criticize it, secondly KG has a history of chest pumping and celebrating his entire career, that's why he is being singled out.

nba players celebrate all the time, so do baseball and football players. no one criticizes that, this critique of KG however has gone on for the entire playoffs.

Watching Garnett reminds me of watching a WWE wrestler... like an Eddie Guerrero, slapping his chest and playing with the fans. It's just his attempt at being charismatic.

Really? In the past 20 years I may have missed church 4 times for reasons other than work related. The single most criticized thing about black churches other than the offering is how people are somehow faking their emotional outbursts. Over the top? Nah...very fair comparison.

what does your going to church have to do with criticisms of black churches? i'm not saying people don't criticize the emotional outbursts, i think they do, i think they do unfairly, it think they do it for different reasons.

Please explain the difference in reasons between why people criticize black church emotional outbursts and KG's outbursts.

If I'm not mistaken, I believe both are criticized because the people criticizing them believe both to be fake.

i don't think people criticize the black church for being fake, I think they criticize it for being emotional if they criticize it.

When I talk about my church, which I frequently do because I have been so active for so many years, questions are asked of me that have to do with the sincerity of the emotional behavior. It's a big deal, and if I weren't so close to it then it wouldn't matter to me as much.

i don't think the black church comparison is true for KG. I would think that the most annoying part of black church for people is the multiple collection plates and "laying hands" on people and passing out from the holy ghost. I don't see how you can have a problem with someone simply being enthusiastic about God. Similar to the way that i can't see how it is a problem for someone to be enthusiastic about basketball.

I thought Paul Pierce's antics throughout the finals have been more fake...

Really? I thought he was being genuine with his reaction.. that dude has come a long way and it was only a couple of years ago he was in the same position T-Mac is in now.. not being able to get out of the 1st round. Glad to see him, Pierce and Allen finally get a championship.

The actions, language and emotions of street people should be avoided at all cost because if they are influencing modern society they will drag society down to their level, especially if they become the accepted norm ! :p

how is my statement uninformed? whenever a black church is portrayed in film, commercials or otherwise the members are viewed routinely as over-the-top jackasses. and if you've never seen this depicted then you are the one who is uninformed.

you're all over the place, who said black churches aren't emotional?

okay, maybe i misunderstood, but still you were unclear. you first responded to the criticism of KG for being fraud, then you brought up the black church, but going back and reading again I see you never said that people criticze the black church for being fraud, you just said they criticize it for being emotional which has nothing to do with the KG criticism because people aren't criticizing KG's emotion.

looks like you just wanted to discuss another topic, seriously. it was my mistake for not realizing that.

    Huh?

I maintain that the reason KG's celebration is being criticized parallels with the way people are criticized for their celebration in black churches, and "fake" is often an operative word.

    That's all.

    I don't know what's worse:

KG with his chest thumping fake aggressive face

    Or

Paul Pierce's crying look everytime he gets fouled

I guess Ray Allen is the guy I like the most out of that group by FAR.

I'm still not clear on this whole discussion, but I think I'd pay money now to sit with KG at a black church.
