She is talking out of her ass. Laypeople tend to broaden the scope of legal concepts beyond their actual application. There are (at least) two problems with her reasoning: 1. A live feed to your computer does not invade her privacy any more than a taped recording does. 2. There is no reasonable expectation of privacy in your bar. It's a crowded bar; if you want privacy, a place where the general public congregates is not the place to do it. If she wants to pick her nose and scratch her ass, tell her to do it in the bathroom.
Quick Question - I know this thread has been inactive a while OK, so the local bar that I hangout at and play music at has started a rumor that I slept with another man other than the guy that I was seeing at the time (super rocky relationship), but none the less, I did NOT sleep with that man. They decided it would be a good idea to show the recordings from last night of me and my new friend stealing a kiss (how this evolved to me sleeping with him, I'l never know.) My question is, at what point is this an invasion of my privacy? They're not using it to protect their bar, but at this point, they're using it to slander my name and show my business. I'm just really frustrated. I've played with many bands there and spend quite a bit of money as well as bring in quite a bit of people there each week. Is there any thing that I can do about this? I hope that someone has some advice. I feel very lost.
