Uhhh, not to get to anal here but I hafta say something since I'm gonna be in med school next year. Everyone has two kidneys. You can lose one with very little loss in function (excepting athletes and other extremely active people). In fact there are people who live with one kidney which is so weakened they basically have about 10% function (with ONE kidney). Takes a lot of effort and a special diet but it can be done. So no, Pole would prob not die, although unless RM95 was really careful to hit only the kidney some other problems might arise. dylan ------------------

dylan, You'd probably be right if you were talking about kidney failure, but when you get into a ruptured kidney . . . well, all of a sudden you have urea, unfiltered toxins, and generally, a whole bunch of nasty $#!+ dumping into the body that would require immediate medical attention. Pole lives, but after having one kidney destroyed, he only has one left (and, thus, cannot donate it to Freak). Pole's kidney is the only one that will save Freak in time. R95 should not be charged with murder, since he didn't kill anyone. If it could be proven that he knew what he was doing would result in my death, then I'm sure there is some sort of crime between assault and murder that he could be prosecuted for. In fact this has probably happened in an episode of Law & Order. I'm assuming of course this isn't some kind of trick question. Just my opinion.

I think the conspiracy would include Freak and Rimbaud. They are already conspiring to find a legal way to do it, here, even seeking medical advice from Dylan about how to eliminate one kidney without killing Pole. The evidence is right here. I'm not sure how they plan to take out Pole's kidney with RU-486, but the evidence of intent is here. Pole, if I were you, I wouldn't be liking this scenerio either. ------------------ Stay Cool...

Freak wanted to know if he could get in trouble for slipping someone RU-486 and terminating her pregnancy. It was suggested that this could fall under the category of Murder under some state fetal protection statutes. Rimbaud wanted to know how this principle would apply to the scenerio Rocketman95 beating up Pole bad enough to damage one of his kidneys -- Pole being the only possible Kidney donor for Freak -- and if he would be charged with the murder of Freak, who dies without the new kidney.
