question for people living in Houston

    Thanks for linking some numbers. I was going to say that if you want to know what the economy is like, don't ask people (especially Rocket fans still bitter about our late fade), look at some statistics.

    It was horrible economically in Austin at least twice while I lived there and that was no fun, but there was boatloads of cool recreational stuff within town or a short distance of town.

    Oh, I love Austin, I just want a salaried job I guess.

    There's a job in Houston where you would be a vehicle appraiser for a car company. Entry level is 35K, of course, after taxes, that is nothing. But, you do get to travel, but you have to work weekends, etc.

    Thanks to everyone for their opinion and encouragement in the job search. I am on schedule to get my masters next month and will probably move to Houston soon after that. I am fortunate enough to have some family members that have offered to let me live with them till I can find something. I have put in some applications with the City of Houston and Pasadena so there is still a glimmer of hope.
