Mistreated at a restaurant or fast food restaurant for not speaking english well. Some people take full advantage by yelling at them. It's quite sickening, and I've heard about it alot.
Yeah. That's pretty horrible. Considering how offended Americans seem to get when we go to other countries and we get attitude for not knowing the local language. However, as you already mentioned, I wish some would give a little more effort in learning English.
Some people enunciate words better by raising the volume of their voice. The message can be even more clearer when the person makes exaggerated hand/face/body gestures to the other person.
Random Anglo: You're Mexican right Jose? How do you keep you lawn looking good? Me: Actually I'm from El Salvador. Random Anglo: Well that's in Mexico right? Me: No, it's (longpause, I really don't want to give a geography lesson AGAIN!) you know what, yeah it's in Mexico. On the yard thing I pay other Mexicans to do it. They just do a better job because I talk to them in spanish.
Dairy Ashford and Westheimer, Mexico's Deli. It's on Dairy Ashford, west side, just before Westheimer if you're coming from I-10.
Right behind the Scholtskys on Memorial and Tully is a Jarro's food truck. It's awesome and less than 2 minutes from my house.
Sweet. I've see that place every day. I've never eaten from a food truck before. Will check it out as soon as I get a chance to eat without the woman.
yeah it's a good lunch place. Try to avoid going in the late afternoon though because they tend to run out of the good stuff.
