I made this thread because right I had the awesome experience of just slowly turning up the volume and she left for another room without any conversation. It was a thing of beauty.
I just remembered something. My father in law coined a phrase and trained my wife by it- 'TV Awareness' or 'Game Awareness'. If she (or her brother or mother) would block the TV or a Video game that was going on, they would shout at the offender 'TV Awareness!'; same held true for being too loud. We have a policy of that in our house now.

This is what's really going on. As soon as they hang up they march over to you and inform you of how crazy their mother/brother/sister/friend is for whatever meaningless drama is going on in their lives and regale you with the tale. Women live for drama...reality TV would not exist if this was not true. Welcome to marriage.
