Kind of like what you think of Catholicism. You have no idea what I do or what I believe in outside of the few posts I have in my short time posting here. Your view on Catholicism is warped based on what you want to believe about Catholics as a whole. I'm sorry that some Catholic in your past did something horrible to you but one act doesn't define an entire group. Instead of accepting people for who they are, you feel the need to group all Christians and/or Catholics together to fit into your warped perspective of what it means to be a Christian which is designed for the sole purpose of making yourself feel superior. Sounds like you have some growing up to do, my friend.
I grew up Catholic. I know exactly what it is, and I also know that the worthwhile aspects of Catholicism are the ones you are lacking.
That's funny, I never met a Catholic who shied away from confrontation or ever said it was against their religion to be confrontational, I mean shouldn't the last 1500 years of history have taught us that? Yet you claim that Catholics pretend they're above confrontation.
The Scottish guy wins! Seriously, though, May is important for Scotland because they might finally vote for independence. The vote will take place in Auschwitz...which is just outside of Stirling.
I refer you to this exchange. halfbreed makes a comment about you, and your retort. BTW, could you explain to me what Sila is? Particularly the part about rightful speech?
I thought you didn't know what I was referring to, but you apprently had something already in your mind, so why not just say that in the first place?
Isn't the war sort of a religious and or moral issue in your Protestant sect? The Bible has much to say I believe about the morality of war. The Catholic Church, the original Christian church, had much to say about this subject. Of course they believe the Bible should be considered in conjunction with the Church's interpretation thereof.
A priest, a lawyer and a doctor were running for the limited life boats on the Titanic. The doctor said: "Stop. First the children." The lawyer said: ""F**k or screw the children. (Since this is a thread about church, despite an attempt by Madmax to derail it with jokes, the latter is preferable for this thread) The priest then said: "Can we?".
Not to derail the topic --- but there is alot of debate on whether the Catholic Church in anyway resembles the original Christian church
I'm really trying hard to believe that you don't want to start a confrontation, but with statements like this you are making restraint very difficult.
So what is your response to the fact that YES Christians do pray for the Iraqis who are suffering? Derail it by bringing up other issues, I see.
