Before Numbers 2, there was the Roxy....on Westheimer....THAT was the first new wave club....

I was going there in 1982-85 when it shut down......also Numbers...then there was Riches straight nights over there off Tuam....

Dang......making me remember Mohawks, eyeliner and ....uh......teeth clenching.

Man, if someone would put together a compilation of those dance hall videos from the 80s it would sell like crazy.

I would love to have all those obscure songs and vids from the one hit wonders.

And, a friend has a bar, that he should be playing these in......anyone opening a bar in an upscale area where 30 somethings and 40 somethings are living should be playing these vids.

So in New York that stuff was only in the Gay clubs in the 80's huh? Maybe they knew something we didn't. A couple of those were good, but man, some of it was just a spectacle.

Cmon, what about something with a little more teeth like Ministry or Gwar (who was banned just for spraying the ceiling with a little blood).

Wonder what ole Bruce is up to these days. Numbers... those were the days. Or were they? I forget, really.

And BoomBoom, I totally forgot about that song too... CURSE YOU numbers list.

Bruce actually sold his part of #s to Wes (I believe). I've known those guys for almost 25 years (I can't believe that...). Last time I talked with Bruce he was still doing some booking at #s, but that's about it. Wes still DJs and mans the wheels on Friday nights with all these "hits" folks keep referencing in this thread. Go there and say Hi.

I still give mad love to Bruce for moving us up to the front of the line when Morrissey appeared at the Record Rack. That all nighter on No-Doze was tough, but Bruce made it worth while. Knowing people was a good thing.

    These FLOODED the dance floor.

If any of my fellow old guys remember these, send a "thank you" my way. You're gonna hear these and think "holy **** - I LOVED those!".

THIS was club music. Not that crap they played (and still play) on the radio.

Ownage! I remember that song being mixed right into Time Zone - World Destruction...

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/93HWraYnSFc&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/93HWraYnSFc&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Anyone remember Q-Zone on 93Q? I couldn't believe that a radio station could drop so many sick songs. I remembered staying up late listening to that show and recording many hours worth on cassette tapes. I still have those tapes stored somewhere in my house.

I was just a kid in the 80s. Does Numbers still have "retro 80s" night where they play this kind of stuff? When is that?
