Opps...thanks for pointing that out! Typo! Still very young player that I think can develop well with the right coaching!!

Battier has been mentioned as a great team defender for many seasons. I agree though, smarts are important for defense. There are many players in the league that don't have the brains or the desire to play defense.

I wish I could edit. It's actually from 2000 draft and up.

Agreed I think he will have a better shot selection at the next level since he's now playing with a team full of veterans. At Syracuse they were a very young team, 3 freshmen were forced to start because of injuries.

My concerns will come once I actually see him play.

Oh man, I guess that surely means he wont ever score more than 10 points in a game right?

Right now it doesn't concern me at all. He should get his minutes and Adelman will see what he can do and how hard he works.

    Time will show everything

i don't have any concerns since he probably hasn't even had his first NBA practice yet.

I concur. Beside, I think that our scouting dept has already address this situation. Time will tell.

To be honest, I'm more impressed with Dorsey because he can help NOW.

Granted, our team hasn't always drafted well, so I give Morey props.

I do wonder why we would draft a player whose ceiling or potential doesn't include handles/passing, which would seem to fit Adelman's system.

If we keep him, I really hope he turns into something good, a value pick like Josh Howard.

A small nagging voice says that the Kings and other teams were also after this guy, and I wouldn't mind parting with him if it helps in my quixotic quest to land Ron Artest.

Lol, gotta love Carl's posts and how laden with homo-erotic innuendos they are. Or maybe it's just me. :p

Anyhow, I'm not worried about Greene's wingspan. I think the bigger concern is his lateral speed, which if I'm not wrong, is only average to below average. If you can't slide your feet fast enough, you can't guard anyone.

It doesn't help that he has a questionable attitude and work ethic, as well as bad shot selection. I hope he gets his head on right and work hard to prove himself, because the chances of him being a bust is just about higher than him succeeding.

If all he does is camp out at the 3-point line jacking up shots and playing matador defense on the other end, it's a pick wasted. I wanna see him pump-faking and taking it to the rim, mixing it up inside with some post-game that he's capable of, and at least try to learn the nuances of defense.

looking forward to seeing dorsey man up on boozer, amare, and duncan. we finally have an enforcer... finally. first one since thorpe and a washed up barkley. if dorsey can develop a jump shot like pj brown or david west, he'd be one hell of a player.

as far as greene, he's long and has a good shot, but always stays out on the perimeter. what position is he going to play, i'm assuming the 3 but when he fills out, will he be quick enough to defend? i'm sure morey did his homework and he'll turn out to be a solid rotational player down the road.
