    That's why you're a future Aggie! :D

Anyways...Aggies, besides having the reputation of not being the sharpest knives in the drawer, tend to peform age old rituals and traditions just because they have been doing it that way forever...Though the new Thanksgiving tradition of the sacred pre-bonfire lumber collapse/mass suicide hasn't really caught on in B/CS...

Yeah, I miss those days... My youngest sister who still goes to CFHS has the whole week off. My middle sis and I dont "officially" get off for thanksgiving until tomorrow at noon, but both of us are taking off today anyway.

The kids I teach got off today at 11am for a "thanksgiving fest" and most of them were gone by 12:30 when I got there to pick up my paycheck.

We never got the Wednesday before Thanksgiving off, but my kids got it off this week (but had to go Monday and Tuesday).

Eventually, they moved the start of school back to August 15-16.

I thought there was a state law that mandated a later start time. I know Plano ISD was fighting trying to get an earlier start date but the thinking was they weren't going to get it.

School has started the third week of August for at least 12 years now down here on the Gulf Coast...

In Plano, it has started the first week of August for the past several years.

I know the Legislature adopted a Uniform Start Date for Texas public schools (did so this year), but there is, apparently, an easy waiver process.

I took off the entire week for Thanksgiving.

I feel like a kid again. Playing video games and watching DVDs all day while my friends are at work.
