    What, are you a prostitute?

There are some people here that actually have mirrors on top of their monitors so they can see if anyone is coming behind them. That's a little over the top for me. I prefer the subtle approach...just being quick with the minimize key.

At my past office (IT consultant), people (including my manager) would randomly bring up breaking news headlines and quirky news during the day, obviously from surfing the web. So it was well accepted. Not to mention everyone would frequently surf the web for research. But usually w/ the workload I wouldn't want to surf unless I really didn't have anything major on my plate. I'm sure out of every hour people would surf for entertainment for 5 min.

As for listening to music, at least 1/2 the office would listen to music all the time. I couldn't make it w/ out it.

Your boss should be proud of you. You're top ten in SOMETHING...

No doubt. I bought a docking station for the iPod and it completely rocks for office use.

I don't have the internet here at work though. I'm posting here through the use of laser beams and robots that turn into buildings.

I couldn't agree more. My boss is great, and as long as I get my work done, he doesn't care what I do. Some jobs are -on- all the time, and then some have ebbs and flows.

True. The days that go by quickest are the ones where you have no time to surf.

To be honest, I'm very surprised.

By the way, don't surf sites that have webcams of decomposing bodies in the coffins. The #1 in the company has that as a bookmark.

Good LORD, you're kidding! I think it's pretty disturbing that anyone would want to look at something like that* especially the #1 at your company. It just goes to show you how low some people will go when they think no one else is watching. I mean, really...what kind of a SICKO actually gets off watching sites like that?

It is indeed a sad reflection of today's society, really. :(

*can you post a link to that site? thanks
